Tronin and I discussed it, and thought it would be worth putting forward the idea for an RP guild.
The purpose of this guild would be 100% Out of Character. This would not be an in character corporation/guild/group run by the characters of Tronin or Nycrett. In character, there would be no leadership at all, because in the context of RP the guild would not exist.
Terminology:
- IC: In Character - What your character, not you, says or does. What they would know is limited to the Star Wars universe, and not necessarily everything you, the player, knows.
OOC: Out of Character - What you say. This generally doesn't reflect on your character. Should be marked as OOC with brackets or some such, so other roleplayers know you're not talking as your character.
- 1. Help roleplayers find other roleplayers.
2. Help new players who are interested in roleplaying get on their feet. Many people don't want to RP until they've worked on their character a bit, so we'll gladly help you with build/grinding advice, resources, housing, clothing, armor, weapons, etc.
If and when it got to the point that there's enough people to make up multiple guilds, with a fairly active place to RP with more random encounters, then we'd likely disband the guild since we wouldn't want to take away from more focused RP guilds.
Requirements to Apply:
Be interested in roleplaying! That's it! You don't have to be an experienced roleplayer, at all. None of us were when we started roleplaying.
Whether you're into cantina RP, criminal RP, action/adventure RP, galactic civil war RP, or whatever else... there's no limitations on that. Because this guild is NOT an IC guild. It's an OOC guild to hopefully get things moving, and get people meeting each other a little more easily.
That said, if you're looking at this post and are like "Aw geez, but I really like my non-RP guild, I just like to RP on the side." This isn't insular guild RP. It's just an easier way to connect and hopefully help kickstart the community. If you're in that position, let us know, and we'll keep you up to date with new members and such so you're not out of the loop.
Rules:
- 1. All RP must be 100% OOC consent. We don't care what type of RP you do, at all. Just as long as it's all 100% OOC consent.
2. Keep anything very adult-oriented out of guild chat, both IC and OOC.
3. Guild chat is an IN CHARACTER communications channel. Think of it as an 'open' texting channel that your character can access from their datapad. OOC talk in guild is fine, but it must be noted (with brackets or some other method).
4. Obviously no OOC harassment or arguing in guild chat. If you want to argue OOC do it in another way. OOC drama is not the guild's problem, and anybody who takes it to guild chat will be warned and eventually kicked.
5. Your RP style can be whatever you like, from very light to immersion styled. The only RP requirements are to keep any IC chatter to actual IC stuff. No IC talking about the football game or whatever.
6. Don't be a jerk OOC. Your character can be the biggest jerk in the galaxy, but OOC be nice. (Example: If you read my character's history you may see that he's a bit of a jerk, but I do my best to be nice OOC!)
