Donations Welcome!

As most know, Awakening is a "hobby" project (i.e. no one gets paid). It was started out of desire to bring back a fun Pre-CU server for people to enjoy and we want it to continue for many years to come!

As for our financial stability and the ability to operate long term: we are in good shape (probably better than other Pre-CU projects out there) because I personally fund the shortfalls. However, I do want the server to be self-sufficient (as does my wife) and I truly appreciate any assistance players can give. It really does help support the cost of the project (servers etc) and help the project move towards financial independence.

As a token, to show our appreciation, the Awakening staff will now start giving special forum titles for donations.

$1-10 donation - Title: Force Sensitive $11-20 donation - Title: Initiate $21-30 donation - Title: Padawan $31-50 donation - Title: Jedi (Light/Dark) $51-100 donation - Title: Jedi Knight (Light/Dark) $101-200 donation - Title: Jedi Master (Light/Dark) $201+ donation - Title: CUSTOM TITLE (limit 16 chars, subject to approval) The custom title and your name can be either Red or Blue.

NOTE: When you donate, please send me a message on the forums with the subject "Donation", please include the email used, transaction ID and the amount you've donated. Also, recurring donations will continue to increase your title level. For example, if you set up a Paypal recurring donation of $10/mo (less than most MMO's... hint hint), within a year you would have the Jedi Knight title.

In addition to the titles, I will be personally "grateful"!

Hey everyone! As always please consider donating if you enjoy playing here. We are thankful just to have such a wonderful playerbase. We don't have the high operating costs that you see a lot of other emu sites and in most cases we have just as good, if not much better hardware and bandwidth.

We aren't in this to make money and we aren't looking to build some monstrous surplus. If something happens to our benefactor(Ed) you could see a swift reduction in services as costs would climb swiftly. I do want to take a minute to thank several of you that have donated. It really has helped Ed avoid the marital aggro.

We do appreciate anything contributed, whether it be code, helping us out, advertising, money etc. We have a huge active player base now and it wouldn't take much a couple times of year to help us keep chugging along.

...and Ed, thanks for letting us relive the swg universe!!!

On the eve of our first anniversary, Awakening is more stable than ever! We also are no longer dealing with 2.5 restarts and it can truly be everyone's new Star Wars Galaxies home! Let all your friends know we are here to stay and better than ever!

With that said, please keep in mind, donations are needed to keep this great server and community going and every donation is very much appreciated! I want Awakening here indefinitely to carry on where SWG Pre-CU left off!
