Right so I've had this in mind for a while now. I'd like to establish a Guild (And an associated City around it) dedicated purely to the trade-crafting professions. I've already procured a Corellian Guild Hall (And if you've read my City post you'll know I've got a City Hall being built for me too) and some money to run things initially, but what I'm interested in, and hope to find out from posting this, is whether or not there would be any interest in a Guild dedicated solely to the trade-crafting professions? It will be a purely neutral establishment, dealing with Imperial and Rebel forces equally, but openly supporting neither side.

And if there is an interest in such, I'd like to hear your suggestions for names as mine seem to all be rather simple, for example;

Galactic Traders Network (GTN) (I'm sure TOR is to held accountable for this one)
Free Trade Association (FTA)
Free Traders (FT)
Corellian Trade Corporation (CTC) (In reference to being based on Corellia)
Galactic Manufacturing Services (GMS)

I'd really like feedback on this matter before I advance any further and find I'm wasting my time and credits.

Trade guild. Good Idea.
Trade Guild run by an inexperienced part time crafter. Bad Idea.

We all have to start somewhere. Plus, I don't see a line of people on here queuing up, asking people's idea's and opinions and actually making an effort to establish something along the lines of a Traders Guild right now Lyris, so I'm taking the initiative. Perhaps you'd like to offer some suggestions on the matter, beyond just an opinion? Thanks.

Opinions are welcome, however I requested feedback.

Feedback;
Noun; information about reactions to a product, a person's performance of a task, etc. which is used as a basis for improvement.

Opinion;
Noun; a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge.

I applaud those looking to make cities and grow them! The server needs many... Imperial, Rebel and Neutral.

I also hope to see Imperial and Rebel cities on some of the planets, such as Dantooine. Higher end guilds ready for PvP of course.

I think it's an excellent idea. I currently have a combat char and an artisan char (both newly made in the last 24h) and would be happy to have my artisan join a traders/crafters guild.

I've found so far that getting decent equipment (at least for the low levels I've reached) so far has been difficult, so I've been making what I want/need for my combat char using my artisan. I'm thinking a traders guild could provide equipment for all exp leveled chars, as well as a good place to train new(er) artisans. Also perhaps a structure in the guild to provide for all types of resources/goods for all proffesions given time, would be of great benefit to the game/server in the long run.

Okay, an update on matters.

In addition to having a Guild Hall I now have the City Hall. I'm still looking for more feedback here on matters, perhaps a list of those who'd be willing to commit a trade-crafting character to being a guild/city member help in establishing the basis of both.

Remember, there is no stipulation that I have to be the permanent leader of the guild/city as both can be turned over (or they could in live, I'll need to clarify we can still do that) to the control of someone else in the future.

I am here merely trying to establish a foundation from which something great might one day grow. I hope some of you will choose to work with me in this en devour.

If you build it, they will come. I think your idea of starting while the server is young is a good one.

Sadly, due to lack of interest by the current community and no support in the establishment of an all trade guild/city, I am sad to say this project has been scrapped. A secondary project has been initiated and information will be provided in a new thread in the near future.

Thank you,

Lack of interest? Really? I have 2 artisans who will join, and I know of at least 2 others who are excited to join as well. Mostly were just waiting for it to happen so we can join.

Yes, lack of interest. Something cannot be started/continued if the people aren't willing to help initiate it/support its continuance.

I tried for long enough to recruit people into INTEL (Independent Trade League) and form the basis of a city, I bought close to a dozen houses for gifts to those who joined, deployed a number of houses across my own characters, offered vendor spots in the guild hall I set up and did much more besides, but nobody bothered to contact me in-game. If they can't be bothered doing that then they obviously aren't that interested and I was just wasting my time and credits, thus this project has been scrapped, I will let someone else to take the initiative and attempt to form a craft's based guild if they are so inclined.

I tend not to waste my time on things that people don't truly express an interest in or wish to actively support, however I wish you and your friends good luck Zodegis.
