Brawler: The Art of Punching, Smashing, and Stabbing

Tough warriors designed for melee combat and direct confrontations with enemy forces. Brawlers are extremely difficult to incapacitate and can act quickly in combat. Brawler is the cornerstone of everything melee in Star Wars Galaxies. At Novice you are granted a dagger cert and left to stab and punch your way to the top. Novice Brawlers also gain a few weapon specific special attacks. By Master (if you choose that path) you will have a clear understanding of the inner workings of melee combat, along with many advanced special attacks for each melee weapon type. We also get the coolest clothes when making a character.

Getting Started

Combat: To fight a creature or NPC, you merely need to approach the target and double-click(or choose Attack from the target's radial menu). Start out by fighting creatures that have a green or light blue star burst icons next to their HAM bars (these are creatures you can defeat with relative ease). Because you'll be using melee combat, you'll need to be fairly close to your target before attacking.

Special Attacks: You begin with four basic attacks each associated with a different weapon. To review your special moves, open the Combat tab in your Abilities screen (ctrl + a). You can use any special move by dragging it into your toolbar and clicking on the corresponding Function key (F1 - F12) when in combat. Make sure you have the proper weapon equipped (double-click on a weapon in your inventory to equip it).

Earning Xp
One-handed, Two-handed, Polearm and Unarmed Combat: You can advance up any of the four disciplines in Brawler by defeating creatures or NPCs using the appropriate weapon (or, no weapon if you're advancing through the Unarmed Combat discipline).

Earning Credits
Brawlers can earn credits by taking the Destroy or Deliver missions ( from mission terminals or NPCs) and by looting defeated enemies.

-Buffs & Debuffs Overview-

STUN: This adds penalties to the targats defenses.

BLIND: This adds penalties to both defense and offense.

DIZZY: Attacks that can dizzy, make the target more suseptible to falling over when changing stances.

POSTURE CHANGE(up/down): These types of attacks cause the target to go from prone to kneeling, or kneeling to standing and standing to kneeling, or kneeling to prone.

KNOCKDOWN: Causes one or more targets to go ass over tea kettle.

BLEED: Bleeds do just that, bleed. Certain attacks can cause a target to begin to lose points from their HAM bar over time.

TAUNT: Increases the aggro that a mob in combat has towards you. This ability is useful to get mobs to attack you instead of other party members.

WARCRY: This combat move can increase the round-time of your opponent's attack, in effect slowing them down.

INTIMIDATE: When a target is intimindated, they are not able to hit their targets as often.

BESERK: While berserk, you cause more melee damage to your targets but get hit more often in return.

CENTER OF BEING: This command will cause your character to focus on avoiding combat blows. This will only apply when you are weilding a melee weapon.

-Where To Go From Here-
Whether or not you master Brawler is up to you, but going on to a advanced melee profession can be tricky. Each advanced profession is unique in its own special way.

ELITE PROFESSIONS:

TERIS KASI ARTIST - A Teris Kasi Master is a significant force even by themselves. The TKA specialist focuses on learning the techniques to make their fists and feet deadly weapons. The Teris Kasi Master is one of the most feared melee combat opponents,s as they can deliver rapid, damaging blows to even the strongest of enemies.

FENCER - The Novice Fencer begins learning the specialized moves involved in mastering the one-handed sword -- a swift and efficient weapon. The Master Fencer completes the specialization of the one-handed sword, making them one of the fiercest melee opponents.

SWORDSMAN - The Novice Swordsman excels at wielding two-handed swords. The master Swordsman has specialized knowledge and skill in the two-handed sword category, and is a fearsome opponent.

PIKEMAN - The Novice Pikeman excels at using the longest melee weapons. Though polearms aren't as fast as other melee weapons, they can deal a heavy blow. The Master Pikeman is able to deliver the most damaging blows with one of the most deadly types of melee combat.

HYBRID PROFESSIONS:

COMMANDO - Commandos learn how to use and create a unique set of weapons -- explosives. Commandos continue to excel at combat, but also specialize in the skills required to take down large armored vehicles. The Master Commando learns the last skills needed to complete their specialization in the creation and use of explosive weapons.

SMUGGLER - A smuggler is a rogue like character who profits from shady deals behind the backs of the authorities. A Smuggler gains the ability to slice simple locking devices (such as containers), weapons, armor and the ability to acquire several questionable spices. A Master Smuggler can purchase faction perks at a 25% price reduction.

Pre-CU guides should be applicable, NGE ones will not.

I believe currently they do stack and im not sure if Awakening is going to keep it like this. It was changed during this last publish on EMU but has been changed back on Nova after they determined it didn't stack on live. Devs will have to chim in on whether they want to keep it as is or change it back to how it was on live.
