So I started playing awakenings some time back. But I was mostly interested in playing Jedi, which didn't exists in the game at the time. That combined with the threat of a complete wipe before Jedi was to be implemented and I lost interest relatively quickly. I received an email not long ago, from one of the devs I assume to come back. I sent a reply asking about both of those issues and was told there was no wipe and Jedi were indeed in the game. Star Wars for me personally is the Sith and the Jedi, always has been, since the first time I saw Darth Vader. Last time, obtaining a Jedi character involved this convoluted mind numbing skill grind. And if that wasn't bad enough, no one told you what skills you had to mind numbingly grind. So when asked prior to logging back in if it was a massive grind, or if there was more to it. I was told yes, it's no longer just a grind. And from what I have been able to gather on these forums its grind 2.0. Now not only do you grind skills, but there could be any mired number of things in the game that could lead to becoming a Jedi, and the real kick in the head is there is no possible way to determine what any of those things are. You could literally play till the developers get board and shut down the server and have never unlocked. so my question is, is that the case, or is there a way to track your progress to help determine where you need to go next. Or is it the grind of all grinds where you literally make a list of everything to possibly do in the game and blindly begin checking off the boxes on your list.

Becoming Force Sensitive is a number of different factors. It’s all randomly dependent factors that are rolled on character creation. While it is possible to track your progress via Jedi Shrine, there is no concrete set way that is the same for every player. Some players have unlocked in as few as 6 weeks, some it has taken 2 years.

I would recommend reading some of the guides in this section and Anckers journey as he has unlocked multiple Jedi. You won’t get any hints or advice from staff members if that’s what you are seeking. Read the forums, talk to other players in general chat and you will gain some ideas on how to proceed. Unlocking a FS character on Awakening is designed to be more challenging for a reason. Other servers allow easy unlocks, but the Jedi are far more watered down as a result.

I wish you well on your journey if you decide to pursue it.

I completely understand making it a challenge. However to be completely in the dark seems a bit much. But thanks for the reply all the same, I appreciate it. Unfortunately, I don't have the time now that I did when I was younger and played SWG when it first came out. It was nice to jump in and ride around in a speeder again, but two years is completely out of the questions for me.

You don't know that it will take two years. You don't know, because you are quitting before you try. Your choice what to do with your time. But to limit playing a game that has SO much depth other than jedi, seems a bit silly to me. There are good places to start, and you can gauge where you are if you check a shrine after every major milestone. The information is there, and if you do all the main things, then you will know. Good luck either way.

Thanks Iassic
This is a great game, I just don't have that kind of time to invest. When I was a kid I could sit behind my monitor and play for hours and hours. I wish I still could, but alas, life catches up with all of us. The rest of the game, and don't take this the wrong way. But from a gaming standpoint, without the Jedi and Sith it feels like Everquest in space. That is not a knock on the game by any means, just my own personal view point. Every game I play, I sit down and ask myself, okay, what is the goal here. And when it comes to Star Wars, for me, it's always been where are the Jedi and Sith. Now a days, I lean more towards console gaming cause it's quick. I jump on Farcry 5 or something after work, get a quick fix and then off to what ever slavers task my wife has lined up for me. lol

There are several servers out there that cater to the style of gameplay that you are seeking. We don't advertise or promote them here, but I wouldn't give up on SWG altogether. I am positive there is one out there that will suit your needs. Good luck!
