Good evening all!

I was originally on the Scylla server and played pretty much from release to NGE. I found out about SWGEmu years ago and played there for several years. I went away and came back to Basilisk which has become an afk / ghost town sad state of affairs. I am looking into Awakening as a potentially new chapter for this SWG Vet. I was only able to log in for a few minutes but look forward to a nice long session to settle in. I do have some questions- apologies if these have been answered elsewhere, I did skim for answers but had limited time and was hoping to have some of this info before i finally get to log in.

- I did log in, started in Bestine ( on accident) went to Cnet and found NOBODY there- is this typical? I believe I read that most action is around player cities (which i find refreshing) but can anyone elaborate or confirm that?

- I read that things may have been adjusted to be more challenging- does this require a group to kill everything? I only inquire because my game-time is dictated by whatever downtime I may have at home from the family and often find myself playing at varying times of day/night

-Are the major spawns camped 24/7 by afk toons? This was one major drawback on Basilisk where i could not compete with this army of bots covering everything from Acklay to Krayts to NS spawns on dath...

-I typically enjoyed life as a resource trader to fund my battle habits, is there any market for resources or is it yet again locked down by people having endless toons to farm whatever resources one might need therefore negating the ability to earn creds in this manner?

-lastly: any other new players that would care to share their initial (and current) experience on the server? I am not hung up on "population" but moreso- are there actual people that regularly actually play the game, rather than an 80% botfest (I get that the macro system alone allows for botting but when that completely replaces real players, some of the fun is lost)

Thanks to all who made it through this wall of text. Apologies again for any retreads, my issue is this: My spare time to play games is of certain value to me. I am just trying to potentially determine I am landing in the right spot before I make the jump and invest countless hours when it could have all been avoided ( or confirmed) by a few questions.

Thanks!

P.S. I have no ill will or dislike for Basilisk / SWGEmu- I enjoyed my time there and had i not taken an extended break would probably still be there, I am just looking for a fresher iteration of the game i once loved. I had fallen too far behind and lost too much to have the will to restart there, without considering other options.

What a great post from a new starter! Well done!

Firstly, I'm Airy the buffing entertainer in New Destiny on Corillia. I've been here for nearly four years. I mastered every profession at some stage except politician. I have a Jedi knight and am dedicated to the grind..

To your questions:

- Most action really is in player cities. Currently the most active city is Bedrock on Tatooine. You will see players go through Cnet but they are mostly passing unless Aztec and Mewface are hanging around for a pat and a chat. I'll let you figure out which one to pat.

- This is a hard mode server. Don't expect to be able to solo everything. If you want to do the high end content like the Death Watch Bunker you are going to need a group. Council Women and Tuskens can be done with two toons and kindly we can run two at once on this server. But don't expect to run into the Tusked Pool POI and get the badge. You won't make it!

- No the major spawns are not camped. Hard mode server means that being afk on the high end is a great way to say hello to the cloner.

- There is always room for people to buy and sell resources, here people are after the high quality resources so it will take you time to build up.

- I can't comment being an old player here

If you need a hand starting out sing out in general chat as there are always people on that will help out.

The good thing about this server is there are people playing from all over the world so there is always someone around to chat with and hunt.

Hope to see you in game.

Airy

Welcome home! Glad you found the server. It is really the most supportive group of folks out there. Just note that most of the NPC cities, save Mos Eisley, are pretty just used as transit. The action is at player cities around the galaxy. If you have any questions or need help getting settled in, The Journeymen <TJM> are always willing to assist. We look forward to seeing you in game. We are always looking for good folks to enjoy the game with. We are Imp/Neutral.

Airy answered your questions pretty spot on. I would recommend getting out and about to the player cities.

Swing by Bedrock and see Absinthe. She has newbie starter kits. food, drink, backpack, etc...

You will really enjoy the server. Folks are helpful, and want to have fun. This server is a little harder than others, but it is balanced and fun. Check out the player cities. There are vendors all over the place. Bedrock kind of caters to the newbie crowd. Lots of starter weapons in vendors, foods, armors, etc...

Come check us out in Bedrock (Scientific Society) and Mos Crumpit (Industrial Society), Tatooine. We have all the basic profession trainers, buffs, vendors, etc... AND the most beautiful location on Tatooine! Come get your grind on!
