Dirge and I have worked on converting the faction armor which is currently in-game (obtainable as pieces from the faction recruiters) to be fully craftable with its own segments (basic and advanced). Currently, on the test server, the armour crafting for each piece is identical to that of composite armour, the same resources, same amounts of each resource, etc. This allows it to basically be a reskin, in order to create more diversity in what players wear on Awakening while engaging in combat. The reason for this post however, is to ask you, the players for ideas on how to implement the armour to be obtainable by players on the live server. Keep in mind that these are the basic sets, in the future there are plans to add sets from later periods of the game such as the Rebel Battle armor and the Imperial Spec Ops armor, so the intention is to keep these methods of attainment less rare and hard. Before we get into talking about implementation methods, I'll break down what each set currently contains in terms of pieces:
Stormtrooper Armor
|
Rebel Marine Armor
|
- Just leave the pieces and segments as purchasable limited use schematics on the faction recruiters
- Just leave the pieces and segments as one time purchase, unlimited use schematics on the faction recruiters.
- Make the armor and segment schematics drop from factional NPCs (killing rebel factional NPCs gets you Stormtrooper schematic pieces and segment schematics, and vice versa). Whilst still having the pre-made pieces purchasable from the faction recruiters with the terrible stats.
- Implement some form of quest line for Rebels and Imperials that gives out unlimited use schematics for the pieces and segments as you progress.
- Implement some form of quest line for Rebels and Imperials that gives out very limited use (maybe an allowance for ten full sets of armor) schematics for the pieces and segments as you progress.
- Implement a mixed system where the pieces come from a quest, the basic segment is from the faction recruiter and the advanced segment is a mid-tier loot drop...
Note: Writing a quest line will require significantly more effort and time to do, I will first need to teach myself how to write them and then develop a story to accompany it. If you suggest a quest line, please devise a storyline to accompany it.
* Please note, that just because you suggest something it does not mean we will implement it to your exact specifications. We are using this post to help us understand how our player base likes things implemented. While your idea may not be used in the final implementation, all contributions are appreciated.
