Have you started your character yet?
Yessir, I have. I was going to attempt a pacifist path for enlightenment into jedi, but I was informed by players on the server killing SOMETHING was necessary for unlock. Unfortunate.
It is how things were in Pre-CU and CU. NGE Jedi were given away and they too killed things to level.
I think it makes sense to kill things/people as a Dark Jedi (especially Younglings!)... but yes as a Light Jedi we should put in some daisies, for them to sniff. ;D
If I may add in my two cents... using the numbers generated by one's play could be use to determine if they are a light side or dark side supporter if used creatively. What is the important distinction between a jedi and sith... the path they choose to walk. When I think of a jedi unlock system, I think of following not the achievements, but the progress of the player. Through every step they take are they good, are they bad, are they actively seeking enlightenment?
To claim that one must utilize the game mechanics that were in place before takes away from the contributions you can now make to create the paths of a light side or dark side jedi. At this point, you have made arbitrary numbers represent if someone is worthy of the power of a jedi. I argue that the path one forges through their play style should be the true determining factor.
I hope that you can take your ambitions ideas of jedi unlock and turn it into an experience that defines the character through the actions that they take, and not the actions you want them to preform.
Anything perma overt do suck though, but that is my thoughts on things, personally in live my thought about it was not core mechanic but only away to stall the progress of any jedi contra actual difficulty on archieving jedi on awakening it might have to be reconsidered, but well it is up to the owner of the server whenever it get to it, follow SoE's way or their own, else jedi path will be a very lonely path progressing in and really not MMORPG'ish putting a pressure especially on the RP and interacting with others.

What does any of that babble have to do with steps to achieving access to Jedi? I think you are in the wrong thread bro.
Jedi are supposed to be alone in this time period. There are few and they are heavily hunted. I could see points to your statement if it were pre or post episodes 4-6 era, but it's not.
