Once you finished your character creation and you are in game, press the left alt and click on the gear icon (options) at the right side of the screen. On the left side of the options screen, click on Misc and scroll to the bottom until you see keymap. Click on it and at the bottom of keymap, click on SWG next to the load a standard keymap and click on First Person Shooter as it uses the WASD keys for movement, but the only way to type is to press the enter key then typing letters instead of just pressing letters to type. It definitely helps **IF** ya do not want to use the arrow keys or just the mouse for movement.

Certainly a good tip.

Has anyone really tried any of the other keymaps? If so what did you think?

I had to master all 32 of the professions last time, finally unlocked with Bio-Engineer...this time, Jedi can get spaced for all I care, I'm just going to make Big Kitties! - Rossi (Tarquinas)

I've always used the eq mmo keymap, it also uses the wasd keys for movement and I rather like it

me too. I take the EQ style and go to keymap to edit the buttons for all shortcuts. Dont forgett, in chat is a good option you can rebind Chat copy and paste. Sometimes pretty handy.
