are you a full template? Cause we can use soldiers, otherwise if you aren't and just inquiring...

1. Start a character - posting that characters name here could help or join one of the faction guilds.
2. Level up to a combat profession, armor food and the like (maybe 2 weeks)
3. Choose a Side and go Overt
4. You have the answer to your question and you played the game.

Otherwise the answer is Yes and you are missing out.

How often are the fights? What kind of numbers do you usually see?

Right now you can be overt as an Imperial for literally weeks before coming into paths with an overt Rebel. So join the server, roll a Rebel and you'll get pvp.

Now I don't meant to discourage you from jumping in at all. This is by far the best emu server out there. The devs are very much pro-pvp and some of us are trying to make it grow but it's pretty hard with no incentives/tef (being worked on thankfully <3) and everyone grinding Jedi (or towards it).

I've looked around at other servers for pvp and right now, I think Awakening potentially has the best pvp community. We just need to make it grow, so come help do that.

New TEF system will be on it's way soon! In testing now.

This is exciting.

Can you describe how the TEF works? Are opposing faction NPCs yelllow and attackable, even while 'on leave'? When flagged, do you turn 'special forces', enabling you to be attacked by opposing players?

In the original system, there were only 2 states: 'overt' and 'covert'? Adapting the TEF to a 3 state system like 'on leave', 'combatant', and 'special forces', should effectively return it to a 2 state system. I think it would be difficult to do a complete adaptation without removing the 'combatant' state, unless it was some special, non-flaggable, state, all on its own.

I'm going to cheat and post this. I may get my ass kicked for it later, but you're welcome. There are other parts of TEF being worked on before it goes to live. We are testing internally and it will move to a public version of test before it goes live. Once again this is a partial list of what is done. Once the rest is available we will post it under be patch notes before it goes live.

1) " You will now be be able to attack those of the opposing faction that are factionally overt or TEF'd regardless of your duty status. By doing so, you will gain a PvP TEF for 5 minutes.

2) Attacking factional NPCs will now gain yourself a PvP TEF for 5 minutes.

3) You can now heal other players that are flagged overt or TEF'd regardless of your duty status. By doing so, you will gain a PvP TEF for 5 minutes.

4) Mayors of player cities can now align their cities Imperial or Rebel. By doing so, those entering your city of the opposing faction will gain a PvP TEF until they leave the city. They can still enter buildings *until* they are attacked or attack someone, then the normal TEF kicks in."

Don't ask for more details or complain about possible outcomes until the complete TEF system notes are made available to the public. If Ed or Cach kicks my ass it's because I am stupid excited about this and wanted to share what limited details I have.

Cynar, you're my favorite.

That sounds amazing; thank you for sharing! It's great to see the server continually evolving into the best it can possibly be.

Hi,

Any idea when the testing for the TEF might move to the test server?

Funny you asked... it should be later today. The Test server is up and running but doesn't have the new TEF system loaded yet.

It's being moved over to test with a few other things. They hope to have it up ready to test Saturday morning, no promises. Devs are busy enjoying those last summertime weekends before they are gone.
