Jedi FRS missions

I had suggested this before to Ed in a conversation on teamspeak and he liked the idea. It would be awesome if there could be jedi mission terminals placed in the enclaves for jedi to do diplomatic/covert missions that could give FRS for completing, and possibly sway planetary control. Just a thought but it would be similar to a BH mission except instead of a financial reward it could be tied to the FRS.

I've not managed to unlock my glowbat yet, however I certainly hope there is some plan in play to bring FRS into play. I think this is fantastic out of the box thinking.

Definitely a great idea. I love the thought of having actual Jedi missions implemented. Any word if this is in the works?

The idea was weighted during the creation and life of the FRS and many people, myself included, supported alternative ways to make FRS but unfortunately many points were made and the FRS is a PvP system, PvE missions would be a no go.

Unless you wanna play it like the Dark Council had decreed that X number of Jedi need to die and turn it in for extra FRS that'd be something.

ummm BH missions for jedi are essentially "pvp" but there are still regular bounty hunter missions so I do not see the difference really.

The fact that some people just aren't into pvp but love the content in the game is reason enough to give it consideration. And by saying you weighed in on this .. are we talking in Live or on this server? Sorry didn't see CSR by your name so my apologies if you are a programmer or staff member.

The thought to me about FRS is, and those who participated can verify ... it took a HUGE amount of pvp to maintain FRS rank at sentinel 3 or above ... just maintenance for me was 10k a week, obviously more if I wanted to rank up. This server could never support the maintenance let alone raising in the ranks. We use to get FRS for killing stormtroopers and players jedi or otherwise. Then it changed to only getting FRS from Jedi or BHs .. so it really depends on what version of FRS shows up here as to the viability of doing something like this. IF we get FRS for any PVP kill, and for NPCs ... then It certainly wouldn't be an issue ... if we do not, I am not sure how anyone could progress in FRS here and even come close to maintaining the weekly maintenance costs let along rank up cost.

I certainly hope the live version of FRS never sees the light of day on this server, what an incredibly shitty system that was.

I actually loved the FRS as long as people weren't "farming" their way to the top, I was out pvping and looking for trouble 8 hours a day to get to sentinel 2 had enough to go to 3 but stayed at 2, that was enough to maintain legitimately.

I think for an EMU server some things can be added to enhance it .. and Ed had said in TS that this probably wouldn't be that difficult to do but maybe since our discussion he decided it would be difficult. But hey he has bigger fish to fry first .. that is why this is posted in the suggestion forums.

This is not in the works. We do take every suggestion into consideration, but as stated we do have much bigger "fish to fry". Perhaps down the road we would consider having an addition or alternative as to how maintenance would be for each rank. You will still have to pvp to participate in any form of FRS system on Awakening.

It's my understand that there is no current FRS system in place here. Would that be an incorrect statement?

A basic framework is there, but you are correct in saying it is not active. It needs a lot of work and is not the current focus of the dev team. The knight trials and force sensitive skills are the only part of Jedi currently being worked on by our team. I will say it is not the main focus as other areas are taking priority.

its preferred by me actually .. I just wanted to suggest an alternative that could be interesting. And yes i would prefer everything else that is important be worked on first. It's come a long way stability wise with only a few hickups to be expected.
