As the title states.
Since the vis patch we have seen some improvement, but it's minuscule. Before the patch, we saw 6 or 8 names at 230k+ and that was about it. When the patch was on test, Ryuask, Remo and myself tested vis and saw great improvement. Granted it was a limited test, but we managed to remove remo from the terms, and reapply him to the terms with about 5 auto attacks. I expected a huge influx of new names, which we have not seen, except for about three new names. I can see a few explanations for this:
1) The visibility fix was not strong enough.
2) The fix was strong enough, but our current crop of jedi are very cagey and extremely skilled at staying off the terms.
3) The current known list of jedi is exaustive, and near complete. There are no new names to add.
That being said, it is extremely hard for us to test without CSR involvement in this case. We do not know what causes vis, or the formulas involved. So I dont really have a method to obtain any reliable metrics on this. If anyone has an idea let me know.
Tweak Visibility again, please.

Agreed. It appears as though, although there are plenty of leveling jedi, the only ones who appear on BH terms either choose to be there or make a mistake (dragging an agro mob into town, misclick and take off their robes in front of NPCs, etc.). I'd love to see a mechanism that involved amount of force use over an amount of time so that jedi earn a roster spot a few times through their journey. As stated, we don't know what causes it so if there already is a force use related mechanism, bump that puppy up a few notches. Pretty please with a cherry.Celt wrote:As the title states.
From a gameplay perspective, this adds more content to the BH profession and makes the grind to jedi mildly more difficult (simply a bit longer, really), but involving much more paranoia/caution. From a RP perspective, the Emperor and Lord Vader should be feeling all of the increasing impacts on the "web" of the force...as opposed to, "Oh yeah, look at [insert jedi name here] taking his/her robe on and off purposefully. We deem him worthy of termination."
With all of that said, we as a playerbase need to engage these jedi once they hit the permaovert mark. This will almost always put them on the terms. You may die, yes, but their penalty is much worse than yours.

I thought this was Hardmode. Do your job BH, go out hunt, stalk. You know the good grinding grounds. You don't need dev help. As someone else already said, once they hit 150 they go overt anyway.Celt wrote:As the title states.

Is this the sole content for BH? Player jedi? Tweaking vis to help one prof does seem a little selfish. Content for only one class.
Having said that, I wouldn't mind other classes added to the terminals. This may be beneficial as content for them too, as I'll mention later. Say those who have x amount of PVP kills could go on the boards, some smugglers might end up known to the opposie faction after a few NPC scans. These of course wouldn't have an xp loss as they are not alpha. But it would spice up the underworld.
Tweaking vis however again to appease BH doesn't sound like a fix for BH 'content'. It seems to be scaring newer jedi. (Yes, I am a new jedi too). Giving them (BH) different missions/player bounties however might help BH content (and at the same time, using the smuggler example) would give a tiny bit content to smugglers too!).
I will have no probs at all with a BH hunting me when I get better and closer to fully temp, but it does scare the crap out of me at the moment, and it is hard - it's supposed to be! - but new jedi are scared
...and even though I'm extra careful I still got on the terms with the new vis update (the player bounty bonus didn't help either, but it did encourage BH's to try things, which is good).
...and yes, I am or will be again a smuggler
. Steppo is marked down for that, so I'll be back to slicing for all folks who need i again soon I hope
IF killing other players is the only fun a BH toon can have, something like other profs on the boards could help other profs gameplay feel, as the old SOE team put it, 'Star Warsy and iconic'. I'm sure Boba hunted more than just rogue jedi
...
I hope this is coherent as I went up and down and all over in the paragraphs while writing this! I hope you get my gist.
See you in chat!

No, it is not sole content. They do seem to enjoy it though, don't they? I think player bounties might be a doable thing at some point, but that will require a good bit of coding. Turning up the volume on Jedi is fairly easy since the knob is already there. Enjoy your Alpha class leveling experience here on Awakening!StepoKedur wrote:Is this the sole content for BH? I have noticed quite a few marks are tied to the Mokk spawns on Dant. Back in the day, grinding on humanoids generated mad visibility, thats why everyone ran quenker missions. That doesnt seem to be the case here, not sure if yall are aware, but there it is for what it's worth.
As for the post about BH's "doing their job" I am not sure giving jedi visibility is our job. I was pretty sure it was our job to hunt them after they had gained vis. Also, if you have paid any attention to the recent drama posts, you will see we have hunters who are trying to generate vis. Hell, I followed Josef a couple days ago, encountered him in mid lair spinning away, and then watched him take off his robes and put on his cloak. Never saw him on the terms. So I don't think BHs are the problem.

To my knowledge CoA Jedi grinding on npcs are already on the terms, they could do npcs missions or a poi, or the weapons facility, or lok imperial base, I can list places if you like. Many of them have been taught recently to avoid, log out in a safehouse (which they should be carrying in their inventory) or run you guys across a planet.
There is one thing asking for visibility changes so whatever a Jedi does puts themselves on the terms, its another thing entirely to stalk them from a starport in order to place them on it. If they are overt that's another argument entirely, I don't agree with the skill point level it is set on currently.
Im on the terms like 24/7 when Creston is online, I can run, log, /wave, or fight you guys.
No one, two, or three for like a week now. In that time, i've been krayting (usually alone but now I have some guildies helping) and probably tuned and/or given away upwards of 20 to 30 million worth of pearls, going by the trade forums.
I may actually have one of the best sabers now. It astonishes me that, many jedi dont bother with it or care to prepare themselves prior to the grind.
The Grinding Jedi aren't so much concerned over what puts them on the terms, its how certain individuals have matriculated into the realm of "i win" weapons and calling it skill as it cheapens both the Jedi as a profession and the BHs who considered themselves skilled because of them.
Same faction hunting was also frowned upon before but little can be done to change that, as its using a game mechanic to avoid.
I'd prefer neutral if you want to not be tef'd.

Creston, there's a lot in your post here and a good portion of it belongs in different thread. But regarding the pertinent info: all I'm saying is that if you look at the list of unlocked folks, very few of them have been on the terminals other than the reasons I outlined. I believe it'd be a fun addition--for both jedi and BH--to have them naturally end up on the terms once or twice in their journey. As Cynar said, they're tweaking as they are the entire class itself, I'm sure.
Furthermore, it's completely in line with the lore and the mechanics of the game to try and place a jedi on terminals if one wishes. Many of your other points have been covered elsewhere on these forums so I'll leave them there.
These are the risks of being an alpha class.

Adding in extra things that wasn't in pre cu doesn't really make the server better and the constant changes to jedi are getting a bit much and i'm pretty sure others agree. There isn't the population to support all of the bounty hunters that expect to have so many jedi to hunt when one its already so hard to unlock which is fine keep it that way but don't ask to forcefully put players that are doing what they should to stay off the terminals just so you can kill them while they are leveling because what you are asking for isn't "fun" you are openly asking to grief players and calling it that, you can wait until they hit the skill points to be permanently overt and have a fighting chance. And you all throw around this "alpha" jedi thing. All i have to say is.jasonh wrote:Creston, there's a lot in your post here and a good portion of it belongs in different thread. This has caught my attention. WE ARE LOOKING INTO THIS and I agree VIS needs an adjustment. We probably won't give details but we will look to adjust.

Haha let me take care of the crappy post where at the end you tweaked my nerves. I don't like people that /threatenquit or refer that they might because they don't like something. Either stay or leave, but don't post crap like that or I will delete it everytime.Unholyfrostgod wrote:it posted twice....idk how to delete a post on here
Jedi are Alpha......at the end of their grind. Getting there is half the battle. And for your info sir/and or madam our population here is rock solid.
Posting funny memes insinuating we don't know what a particular word means lol. Perhaps you should lookup run on sentence and the definition. To the OP the staff has been talking about visibility changes for a bit now. It's happening just like xp loss rate changes. If folks don't like it lots of servers hand out Jedi like candy.
