Server has been up 8 months. It's been open to players for 5.

Hmmm.....been reading through all the posts, notes, comments, and what not in here. I am a former Jedi and was part of the whole profession grind and village. I walk away from all the posts wondering if there is any action that "we" do in the game that takes away from our progression toward Jedi.
I am new here, haven't even logged into the game on awakening as I am still waiting for the gosh darn disks to arrive. I do wonder though if it is the right connection of the dots not just the dots that leads to the Jedi that so many of you seem to be seeking. Perhaps some of the "accomplishments" in the game push you into a new set of circumstances that you must now complete some additional objectives before the path to Jedi can move forward. This would lead one to having a "random" experience compared to other players, why some players may unlock earlier than others even if they had identical "dots" (badges / achievements / POI).
I will likely pursue the Jedi calling when I do finally get in game, but probably more importantly is that I will be back in a game, and era that has never been recreated anywhere else that I have always wished I could be apart of again ~ Pre CU & NGE.
I didn't grind 32 professions on the way to Jedi before I left, only hit 26 before I was bestowed as worthy. Would I do it again....probably.....learned a lot about the mechanics of the classes, and abilities of other players (it's been so long now that I will likely have to relearn almost all of it anyway)
What would be really cool IMO is once the Jedi path is earned if somehow you knew what it was that did it. I'm sure it would never happen as loose lips sink ships, but I would be curious to see the flowchart on what I did that actually lead me to the goal.
PS....If you have a small box it's easier to think outside of it.
Keep the faith, enjoy the game....there isn't another one like it out there....I have tried them all.

Has anyone "completed" everything in the game? I am going to try. I am an adult now and do not have 10000 hours to master the game but heres hoping. I guess all that i ask is that when I unlock I am not like", so i had to become a stripper on Tat?". I am down for a hard system, I just hope it is cool and not just more of the same. For instance, the bleeds and poisons being stupid high made the game hard but in a lazy way. NOW with the force powers doing crazy damage, that makes sense. I am going to just complete things planet by planet and hope for the best. Pvp seems viable but honestly, reading everyone's post over the last few months, you have no choice but to play the game and try everything. Ed isnt going to give you anything other than his enjoyment of watching you pull your hair out. I love this server cause it feels like it is going to last and the dev team seems legit. Just ramp the dang loot up a bit for petes sake.

I thought I would add my two pence! I was thinking along the lines of the following;
Declare residence on all planets, create all loot kits, earn say 100k on each planet. ....Donate to upkeep of server.
I suspect the devs will jump on the donation comment, as I am sure donating is not linked but we really all should give a little. I am fairly new to the server and if this was subscription based I would pay.I think the unknown unlock criteria is spot on, although there is enough info about to piece together a very large part of the puzzle as many are 6/7.
I do have a question for the devs which I will try and phrase in a way that can receive a straight answer. It was mentioned somewhere, in reply to a moan, that people could find another layer of random added to their unlock journey (which was quite amusing). Therefore does that mean that the unlock requirements can be dynamic?
For example if X amount of PVP kills were required could this value be reduced to account for the lack of PVP?

I have found through out life is when you have to work on to get something you appreciate more than if it was just handed to you. If you don't like working hard to get Jedi then maybe you should find a server that offers Jedi as a starting profession. Just a thought.

Any new theories on the last few steps of force progression? There has been some talk of PVP being involved but maybe you need to take it a step further on use a full set of faction armor when you slay your opponents.

I can tell you this....
I never once touched a piece of faction armor before I unlocked but that doesn't mean you do not have too. If you've done everything you can think of in game except don a suit a faction armor and stand on the Deeja Peak falls while /emoting tai chi moves, then do it. I see people making the same mistakes when theorizing about Jedi and what it takes to unlock. It's different for everyone. It's been proven time and time again that some things are similar but nothing is the same for everyone.
Play, do stuff, relax and have fun. The best part of Jedi is getting there!

When you guys killed the different world bosses(Gorax, Overwatch, etc) did you have to be in the group that killed them or just did damage that resulted in their death?

Rumor had it that you needed to be in group when it fell or manage, somehow, to take it solo. But rumors also say Bigfoot is real and the moon landing is fake. Try both ways. If you don't progress...try something else.saboteur wrote:When you guys killed the different world bosses(Gorax, Overwatch, etc) did you have to be in the group that killed them or just did damage that resulted in their death?

Yeah that would make more sense then just do damage and get credit. I'm curious how many people who unlocked did both faction theme parks/rank grind. With the hint jedi must choose a side it make sense to do the theme parks and go up the ranks but it would suck that your toon's checklist required the opposite faction you wanted to go with.Maldred wrote:Rumor had it that you needed to be in group when it fell or manage, somehow, to take it solo. I hope to God the code isn't THAT specific. I don't have an issue with "reach faction rank xxxx".... But if it is reach Rebel or Imp faction xxxx.... Mine will def be set for rebel and I will not play Reb....therefore I will not have a jebisaboteur wrote:With the hint jedi must choose a side it make sense to do the theme parks and go up the ranks but it would suck that your toon's checklist required the opposite faction you wanted to go with.

The unlock is pretty simple, and hell I was one of the first to post my progress. They soon removed those posts for w/e reason but you can still find mine if ur in BDSM and go to their forums.saboteur wrote:Yeah a few pages back they talked about this but Ed didn't want to give a straight answer, sneaky hobbitses.southfrance wrote:I hope to God the code isn't THAT specific.
