Totally nailed it there it comes down to actual content which SWG always lacked... content wise it had way much more to it through out the NGE with actual GCW when the NGE DID get fixed.... every EMU dev fear this whenever it come up thinking oh no combat upgrades but it all comes down to having the actual content on a pre-CU platform, taking it all away or it having giving no reward even if a group is needed you are getting way wrong in the track of gameplay... people need to be rewarded when playing a game and killing stuff for loot... it is shooting yourself in the foot and even SOE shot themself in the foot because those 10 players and only one may get something worthwhile if anything at all of importance and probably would have to sell it as well and give everyone 250k or something, no group is determined to spend 10H for having everyone get something decent at least and you could figure it as a figure of speech... do you go to work and expect not to get paid for the job you did?.Waryam wrote:Disagree with you Ed
It depends of the content,
Is a mandalorian armor/Corvette stuff worth the same merit than krayt stuff ... don't think so.
If you change difficulty of Krayt, you will have to change loot table to make them attractive for group.
Same Thing for NS, you adjust force chock few month ago, they are now useless for everyone,
-> impossible if you are alone,
-> not interesting for a group (too many chance for getting nothing interessting with more than 10h farm, and even if you get something how to split in the group..)

You have to look into the game itself as a developer... take the developer glasses of... play the game with the players view on it.... usually it is the players that know stuff the best compared to those that actually make the game... keeping on cutting the players wrists will make you unpopular... and to an extend would even put you down the line with how SoE treated the game and community.. because all these changes in my eyes is seen as combat upgrades/downgrades... and actually makes me question if you have even played the game the same way as the players are doing it now, nerf this nerf that and blaaah.
Keep in mind people need to pay bills as well when playing the game.. a set of armor does not last forever, neither does a weapon... buffs is needed as well... meanwhile everythign takes damage to their items and eventually you need to get it repaired and replaced... often you need or want an expensive weapon/armor as well for it as well due to stuff on server is no joke.
Even throughout the SoE years next to no actual content other than grinding... then grinding some more... then different pre-CU combat upgrades... people was not happy... then the actual CU people got even more unhappy... and finally the NGE... majority of players quit, unless if was a spacenerd since space never changed and those in general things that changed did not ruin space gameplay rather upgraded it by far!!.
Also... Did NS get changed?!?... if so good I did not waste my time going hunting them again... must have had been done in my absense... thanks for letting me know so I am not going to waste to much time on Dathomir.... personally I think the bleeds they did back in the day was harsh enough... if not too harsh for the average joe.
Edit: I also hope ED, that you saw I never mentioned the ancient bastard... could take it... but would probably take like 1.5-2 hours for just one kill.... and as for pearl drops they seem to drop for me all the time... getting at least 1 pearl per session but usually 2 or 3 for the most... getting rich in pearls... which is depressing when I rather would like to craft for the community and not get stuff for a select few Jedi, not that I mind the extra credits of course.. but it just seem like I fail my purpose.
