Healing XP

I have a Musician and I been trying to level the healing tree for about 3 months and still haven't got my first skill in either healing tree is there a trick to it or a good place to go/stand?

Bail - Master Tailor, Master Artisan
Paco - Master Image Designer, Master Medic
Hous - CARBINEER (maybe the only one!), Combat Medic
