Well I wasn't calling you out or anything there has been others that we've run into before that did it intentionally and I'm sure other people have too. Basically what I was trying to say is it only takes one to ruin it for all.Pwntera wrote:You know I was probably the very first Jedi on the server to logout at the bottom of a cave when a BH was coming after me but truthfully I wasn't trying to "abuse" the system, to me it was as natural as buying a travel ticket to leave the planet.Unholyfrostgod wrote:And trust me myself and most jedi ingame that i've talked to at least aren't very thrilled with the cave change especially those of us that haven't abused anything

Yes. I can blame them.zzyzxisinthemix wrote:Can you blame them though? Not for "exploiting" but for being extra careful? Someone will dedicate months on end to get a Jedi, and then spend many many hours to get 1-2 boxes. People protect their boxes like a baby. That is not to say Jedi are not to expect to be hunted, but Bounty Hunters should also not expect to a Jedi fight when going to a waypoint. Expect the Jedi to outwit you, to be more cunning, so that a single minded strategy of "going to a waypoint" evolves naturally to other ways. C:-)Celt wrote:Thats understandable. It's a knee-jerk reaction. Unfortunately, once it becomes a repeated knee-jerk reaction, word spreads, and then it becomes a strategy. Next thing you know every jedi is found at the bottom of a cave and logs when a smurf shows up, no one can hunt. I have seen it time and time again. thats why we found certain jedi at the same waypoint on Dant for weeks on end. We would pull a way point and, without fail, they were in a house at a humanoid spawn that wasnt giving vis.
If Jedi could play reasonably, I would understand. But they cant. They find a work around and they abuse it. Then complain when it gets nerfed. Hard to be sympathetic to that kind of mind set.
We as Jedi are supposed to be hunted. If I end up on the boards its usually from my own damn stupidity. When a hunter comes I fight or run. Even if it's a losing battle right now in my template. IF I can get away...good on me. If not, then I deserve that death just for choosing to be a jedi.
I will however never, ever log when found from being hunted. What I will do is learn, adapt and hopefully overcome.
Every single time someone finds a questionable tactic that everyone starts using it makes it worse for everybody. We all now what it means to be a Jedi here.
Be the Jedi. Or don't. Simple as that.

Just focusing on "logging out" solely, what is wrong with logging out during a safe time?Maldred wrote:Yes. I can blame them.zzyzxisinthemix wrote:Can you blame them though? You can log out using the normal log out as long as you aren't using anything other than a private structure to prevent them from getting to you that's just his personal preference to fight and get it over with or run. So like caves..weapons facility...using the invuln time abusively, stuff like that is whats bad.zzyzxisinthemix wrote:...and no, I am not talking about logging out in a cave...

Invulnerability timer is going away next patch. You can thank the people who abused it. There will still be a small timer in place for the cloner and a very small timer for spaceport/shuttle travel. Whenever you get on a shuttle be prepared to fight on the other side.
Don't just sit in the cloner after you are killed, you got a small window, run and be safe somewhere else. Expect a Bounty Hunter or someone overt on the other side of that shuttle trip everytime you take it.

I wont be grinding in a cave, now. It just sucks that i can't use strategy to accomplish my goal. Not logging in and out but simply using the "working as intended" super mobs as a shield. I fail to see the exploit in that but the finger of god has been laid.

Well, let's just say, for example, you're deep in a cave...and you see a bounty hunter coming for you, but he needs to take out the mobs at the entrance before getting to you...besides logging out, what would be your strategy of dealing with the incoming Bounty Hunter attack?Alix wrote:I wont be grinding in a cave, now. nothing, they arnt specced to get in there, most likely will die. To add to this, i went with Anman to kill Nill that was in the NS cave, we had to wait for him to leave and then killed him. The NS protectors killed us at the door. Was neet.

That's what I was thinking that a BH would be able to do if they saw a jedi in a cave. Wait for the jedi to log back in if they log out because if you log out long enough in a cave you get respawned outside the cave. You could just log out your BH, be on an alt with the Jedi name, wait for him to log on after he/she feels its safe to log back on, and then quickly log your bh back on and attempt to get them.Alix wrote:nothing, they arnt specced to get in there, most likely will die. Yep. So what's the big deal? But it's all good. I am just glad to be playing and respect the wishes of those who make this happen. I was just making sure I knew the rules. I would hate to use a ca e properly and then get warped to an instant death zone. Also there was a previous comment saying there is more to the game then Jedi and by, find a balance, and if it doesn't work for me, I'll just play my alt, which is also cool
