Just wanted to try a resend with a working screenshot link... a few folks suggested photoimg.org... here goes... if it works feel free to delete the earlier post... since this one would be more useful, thanx!
NOT A MONEY TIP... JUST A TIP...
Hey all! Was working my way thru the Jabba Theme Park and ran into some trouble that brought back memories of those glory days on Live that might be worth passing along to any new to the game...
One of the quests involved going to some location, killing some thugs so you could talk to an NPC and of course, as luck would have it, the NPC I needed was spawned inside of a solid rock and nearly impossible to interact with. This reminded me of some tricks we used to have to use on Live that might make things less frustrating for the newcomers (or some vets who have forgotten).
Not sure if this JPG will come thru... haven't tried attaching pix before...
[img=http://s30.postimg.org/erluv8f5p/Stuck_In_Stone.jpg]
Recalling one of the joys of Star Wars Galaxies (or woes, depending on your point of view) was the fact that there was always more than one way to skin a Tauntaun. If you can't interact with something with your cursor, try the radial menu, if that fails, you can always try / (slash) commands to get what you want...
In this particular case, I needed to talk to the NPC to further the quest, otherwise I was looking at a trip back to Jabba's to cancel the quest, repull it, and try again... instead, knowing that the NPC's first name was "Sirad", I did the following:
/tar sirad
/conv
The first command Targets the NPC named Sirad, the second command Converses with the targeted NPC... which resulted in him replying to me, and completing the quest without having to go back to Jabba's.
So, if you run into problems like this (NPCs or other targets trapped in walls, rocks, etc.) see if you can target with /tar to get focus, and then try another command like /conv to talk to the NPC, or the tilde ( ~ )key to open the radial menu when you can't get at them with the direct mouse click method.
Happy questing!

MOS ESPA IS LOOKING TO HIRE A GUNSLINGER WITH BENEFITS... (or any combat character actually...some chicken plucking may be required... must be willing to take a bite out of crime...)
Normally, I hate to give away a sweet xp/credit grind location but since most EMUs are loaded with Vets that either already know all your sweet spots or (even better ones)... here's a lucrative job opportunity especially made for a newly created combat class (no boxes filled at all...) that pays for itself and your first 3-4 skill boxes to boot... as an added twist, it is one of the few times I have ever found a good use for an Explorer Mission Terminal... but only 12 years later, have decided I may need to give them a second look...
Qualifications (I did this as Marksman... Brawler mileage may vary, apolgies in advance)
If you are planning on starting a combat character and aren't too particular where you start... while in character creation, choose Marksman or Brawler and for Planet, pick the Rebel symbol (this does NOT make you a Rebel!) and it will drop your created charcter in MOS ESPA. Most folks will pick MOS EISLEY... and while there are MANY good reasons to do so (more people, healers, entertainers, bazaar/vendor items, etc.) you are only going to be in MOS ESPA for a couple of hours, and when you leave you should have your first couple of skill boxes + first combat box filled and paid for, plus a couple thousand more credits in your pockets with lots of loot items and critter resources you can sell later... plus a 99.999% chance you did it all with no buffs, no armor, no dying, and armed only with the CDEF Pea-Shooter or Survival Knife they start you with...)

Qualifications (I did this as Marksman... Brawler mileage may vary, apolgies in advance)
- Novice Marksman or Novice Brawler(chosen at character creation)
- Starter Ranged or Melee Weapon(provided at character creation)
- (optional)Landspeeder/Speederbike(provided at character creation, or you can walk/run)
- Novice Scout (100cr, paid upon exiting MOS ESPA Starport, Scout Trainer is to your left... you can always surrender this skill later, but for right now, it speeds up the kill/harvest/respawn rate for the job you will be doing below...)
- Possible to fill 2(Level I + Level II) Skill Boxes + 1(Level I) Combat Box in about 1 hour
- Practically All of your Tuition Costs to Lock in those Skill Boxes are Covered by:
---Explorer Mission Terminal (Hunting) Payouts (4 missions x ~750-800cr = 3000-3200cr)
---Assorted NPC credit loot 50-75cr per kill/loot
- The City of Mos Espa will be eternally grateful to you for all your hard work, but encourage you to move on to adventures more in keeping with your newly acquired skills once those targets start con-ing GREEN to you, so others may take advantage of this rewarding opportunity.

- 1. Arrive MOS ESPA Starport as a brand new combat character, set your attacks on toolbar, kneel, stand, etc.
2. Pay the Scout Trainer (left of exit) 100cr to learn Novice Scout, put some harvest macros on toolbar
3. Go to the Explorer Mission Terminal right outside Starport Exit, find two Hunter(tab) Missions (direction does NOT matter) for as high a reward as possible (700's, keep Refreshing, checking Details) for Tatooine Mynock's. If you got 700cr missions they usually want you to kill 45, 500cr missions want you to kill 30, etc. Make sure they are both for Tatooine Mynocks!
4. (optional)Go to your Inventory and Generate the Landspeeder vehicle they give you, or you can walk/run but it's much slower... (duh!)
5. Open the overhead map, zoom all the way out... look for where there are 2 Parking Garages along the North side of town... now look between them... do you see a whole bunch of yellow triangles on the outskirts of town? if not, start moving toward that end of town till you do... those are Tatooine Mynocks... and they taste just like Chicken...
6. As you head for the Mynock Field, check every yellow triangle inside of town that crosses your path... most are low level Thugs and Jawas, 200-400HAM, that can usually be killed in 3-4 hits at your level. They usually are good for 100-200xp and drop 50-75cr. Be sure to loot them as you head towards the Mynocks, every credit counts!
7. When you get to the Mynocks, start killing and then harvest (hides, meat or bones)... doesn't matter which, if you don't want the stuff, don't worry, harvesting them makes the bodies disappear so they respawn faster and that is IMPORTANT... there aren't quite 30 Mynocks in the field so there aren't enough to complete an Explorer Hunter mission... BUT! every one you kill counts against both missions at the same time... so kill/harvest each one you see... a message telling you how many more you need will appear in the main screen and chat window. When you run out of Mynocks, look South toward the MOS ESPA city wall...
8. If you look closely along the wall, you will find a small crack, just wide enough for you to walk thru... on the other side is a narrow alley with an assortment of low level Criminals, Thugs, Jawas and Desert Demons... most are only 200-400HAM, the Demons are the only ones to be careful of... their HAM can go up to 800, so they can take longer to kill and they like to knock you down, so have a /stand command ready on your Toolbar because you can't hit/fire when knocked down, you need to stand/kneel to attack, or, just leave them be... at your current Criminal Faction level they are happy to just watch you beat up on the riff-raff... for now...
9. By the time you have killed and looted 4-5 NPCs in the back alley, squeeze back out thru the crack in the wall and the Mynocks should be swarming again... kill/harvest like before and before you know it, one or more of the following should happen:
- You will hit your Explorer mission quota and your reward(s) will hit your bank account (message in chat)
- You will fill another combat xp box
- You will fill another scout xp box
10. At this point, you can keep grinding... but this is a money grubbing thread after all... remember the Parking Garages I had you look for as land marks? well, there are Explorer Mission Terminals located near each of those (so no need to go all the way back to the Starport unless you are ready to train again).
- The Quick Spawning Mynock Field coupled with the Crack in the Wall and the NPC Alleyway means there are always readily available targets for xp, credits or both...
- Explorer Terminals conveniently located at either end of the Mynock field, as well as back at the Starport Trainers means there is NO excuse not to always have active Hunter Missions going...
- The Mynocks fill the Quotas which Pay the Training which... getting dizzy now...
- Dozens of easy/quick respawners (Most Mynocks were 1-shots, NPCs were 3-4 shot, non-assisting)
- Possibly Easiest (<10 min.) 45-kill Explorer Hunter Missions ever
- Tight Proximity of Targets, Mission Terminals, Trainers + Provided Vehicle
- Within 10-15mins Ranged combat types earn their first targeted HAM special making kills faster
- Explorer Hunter Mission Rewards pay for most if not all Training (NPC loot covers rest)
- Accelerated Scout xp gathering
- Creature Resource harvesting for sale (credits) or more xp earnings (Camps/Traps)
- Requires no special buffs, weapons or armor
- Low risk of injury, death
- Must spend 100c for Novice Scout to speed up process (harvest/respawn)
- Did not test on Melee character but believe it would work well for them also

I'm loving these Pro Tips! I never played live so didn't even realize a lot of this exists. Thanks for posting these.

I played live, but even then got so wrapped up in the game I didn't experience everything before quittting after NGE. The emulators and mulitple characters allowed me to experiment a lot more, because in live a 2nd character was the bonus reward for opening Jedi... Also, back then, other than a handful of sites like Sony's StarWarsGalaxies site(shut down now), swgcraft or allakhazam(now defunct, but archived here and there at various emulators) a lot of knowledge was passed word of mouth thru the community, making the online community content a stronger dimension to the game than most other MMOs then or since. There is still a lot of info out there online, but the game existed over 8 years in various forms (pre-CU, CU, NGE, and now mulitple emulators), so if you see it here... it means I found it out there, but retested it with one of my characters on Awakening, just to be sure... overkill, but don't want to waste the new players' time. Glad you are enjoying them!

CHUNKER BUNKER or CHUNK O' CHANGE?
Been a while... another one for a low/mid-level combat character... either have the Novice box of your Elite combat prof, or working on filling it... wanted to try it for myself before posting...
This was done with Jinx, my fledgling pistols guy... he has no armor, no buffs, no PUPs, an average Scout Blaster (certified at Marksman:Pistols IV), Body Shot I & II, and a thirst for credits and NPC junk... so he headed to one of my favorite spots for grinding on Talus... the Chunker Bunker, ~2500m from Nashal, waypoint [1375, 1465]
From Nashal head roughly southwest ~2500m (or from Dearic, northeast ~3000m)... as you approach the waypoint you will see 25-40 blips on the screen... be careful... there are 4-5 on the outside patroling around the entry (doorway) and tab-targetting tends to target NPCs below ground (not the ones aggroing you above ground!). Clear whatever poses a threat and head inside... the guys outside tend to be low level... Jinx was 1 and 2 shotting most of them, and they are far enough apart that they don't gang up... expect a couple hundred xp and 50-100 credits and the usual junk loot... they respawn quick, best to get inside, that's where the real fun is...
Down a corridor/ramp... take your time and there are 4 more guys (and a bar) pick them off... to your right is a med center setup with 4 more guys... take them out... back up to the bar, proceed down another ramp... there will be 3-4 on your left, a couple on your right... some may start con-ning red... don't let them gang up... ranged fighters should have no trouble getting one aggro, sometimes 2 at a time and taking them out quickly...again... 100-300xp per kill, 50-100 or more credits and junk to loot... once past this botteneck it opens out to a big room with 5-6 more guys... pick them all off... they are widely spaced
Head right first... this is a large dorm, lots of beds, night stands and supplies... don't charge in too quickly and you should be able to clear the 8-12 guys in here without too much ganging up on you... be sure to check out the MagSeal Container for some potential surprise loot... or it may screw you over and be Locked!
Back to the connecting room... beware, some may have respawned already... proceed to the final remaining room which should have 2-4 goons... one of which is considered a "boss", but for this level bunker, that means while the other guys may have been in the 200-900HAM range... this guy may be 1000-2000HAM (Jinx needed 3-4 shots on this one...). He is guarding another MagSeal Container... check it for loot... no whammie!
Benefits to Low/Mid Level Combat types (Please be close to getting that Novice box of your Elite combat prof, either approaching or filling!!! I don't want your death on my hands...)
Have fun and tell'em Hefe sent ya!

- 50-100+ credits per kill (+loots)
- 150-300xp per kill
- nicely spaced/they rarely gang aggro'd me (but I was ranged, not melee)
- most of the junk is weaponry/clothing/misc that can be sold (see earlier posts!)
- rest of the junk is recycler kit pieces (pulverizers, red wiring, processor attachments, etc.)
- fast respawn rate!!! - Thank You Awakening!
Have fun and tell'em Hefe sent ya!

Thanks for this. It's been a very long time since I've started from scratch in this game, so...thanks for the guide.

ANCHORHEAD, Episode IV - A New Dope - follow up to the SHELLFISH ALLERGIES post above(more advanced)
If you are looking for a little more Tatooine adventure, and a second draft schematic for the Shellfish Harvesting Tool, there is a slightly more difficult ( but shorter) couple of quests available from an NPC (Vardias Tyne when I tried it yesterday) who for some reason, hangs out in the dry gulley under the bridge in Anchorhead...
Proceed to Anchorhead... this is a little bit more difficult than some of the other low level quests... I was able to complete it with crap armor and a basic bleed (ranged) attack, but somebody with better armor, buffs, etc. will think it a piece of cake. For newer players a speederbike and a basic bleed shot (health, mind, etc.) are a must...
Talk to the NPC under the bridge... won't give too much of the "content" away but he sends you on 2 quests...
Easy: max.30 minutes, 4 quests, targets ~700-900m away, ~300-1200HAM, 10,000cr total + schematic
Hard: max.10 minutes, 2 quests, targets ~700-900m away, ~7000HAM, 4,000cr total + schematic
If you read thru the post in this thread on Jabba's I mentioned that often with these quests, if you wanted to keep a "souvenir" (in this case the Bantha Doll cuz it's so gawsh darned cute...) you could usually just hide the item in a backpack/cargo bag, go back to the quest giver, quit the quest, and then just retake it... the 1st Bantha Doll would be safely tucked in your bag, the 2nd would then be in main inventory to complete the quest... not so with this one... I couldn't get him to cough up a 2nd doll, and he seems to know you have one hidden in your bag... I didn't have an alt handy nearby so have not attempted to hide one on another alt... but will give it a try with one of my other characters and update this post if I can get it to work... I know folks had these in LIVE (decor items) so not sure if you could only do it with alts back them, or if this is something they "fixed" on Awakening...
Enjoy and tell'em Hefe sent ya!

- Kill - target is ~700m away, ~7000HAM... if you are unbuffed/crap armored you can easily employ "B&KB - Bleed & Kite on a Bike"... (B&KB - Approach(bike) to within range, use your favorite bleed shot, hop on bike and run... spamming peace till they stop combat... let the bleed tick down, repeat as needed till you feel comfortable one/two shotting them... they hit pretty hard) - once dead, loot for some quick cash then return to the quest giver for 4000cr (not too shabby!)
- Delivery - this is cake, ~800m away, no combat, simply click (green arrow) on the target and they will take the gift(a Bantha Doll) from your inventory... return and he will put a Schematic for the Shellfish Harvester in your inventory, which that character can use, or better yet, give it to one of your crafting/surveyor alts...

ANCHORHEAD, Episode IV and a half - Another New Dope - TOSCHE STATION
While you are in Anchorhead, check out Tosche Station... immediately west of the Shuttleport... see the collection of little huts and piles of junk...
Talk to "Fixer" in the Tavern... won't give too much of the "content" away but he sends you on 3 quests...

- Delivery - this is cake, ~700m away, no combat, simply click (green arrow) on NPC... return and earn an easy 1000cr.
- Kill - difficult target is ~700m away, ~7000HAM... (but I was lucky and my bleed special only had to wipe out a 4000HAM bar).... see post above for B&KB. The target seemed to get "buggy" with me if I waited too long (had to kite him twice, and then couldn't kill him, the crosshair went to a non target style... had to retry this part a couple of times, don't give up!) - return for a well-deserved 2000cr.
- Delivery + Kill!!! - "Fixer" claims his girlfriend "Camie" crashed her vehicle into an Eopie and needs a spare part for repairs... sounds like cake, ~700m away, once you get close to "Camie", you realize neither of them would make it as a Creature Handler... "this was no Eopie boating accident!"... eliminate the real threat... any way you can... ~4000-5000HAM, deliver the item to the NPC and return for another well-deserved 3000cr.

BACKPACKS & PACKRATS!!!
Driving to work this a.m. (safely)viewing some SWG related content*** on my cell phone and was reminded of BACKPACKS in SWG, and wondered how many of the newer players/never played before players, etc. were aware of them and how they can help the young aspiring Loot Whore in all of us... (well, in me anyway... who hates to throw anything away that can be resold for credits)
If you read some of the earlier posts in this thread regarding all the great LOOT you can eventually sell off either as junk, resources, reward items or simply use as home decor, but constantly find yourself Destroy-ing lesser valued items so that you stay at or below the 100% inventory mark and are no where near a handy dump location (ex: alt, bank deposit box, house, vendor, etc.) it may be worthwhile to purchase a BACKPACK (wearable container) for yourself, which basically gives you 50 more items of carrying capacity not counted in your overal inventory, as long as you are wearing it!!!
There are (at least) 5 that I can recall (Traveller Pack, Tech Pack, Military Pack, Spec-Ops Pack, Bounty Hunter's Pack, possibly more), but other than appearance they all do the same thing... they hold up to 50 items and if you wear the backpack, the items inside do not count toward you overall Main Inventory window count...
On the vendors/bazaar they are listed under "Wearable Container", primarily a Tailor crafted item, different schematics awarded as different skills are unlocked, but other than appearance there isn't much difference (from what I see online, it looks like even if a backpack is socketed, skill tapes can't be applied, but I've never gone far in Tailor, so not sure if this is true or not).
So pick up a BACKPACK, strap it on your back and carry another 50 useless items back home from Dant, Dath, Yavin (or wherever your looting takes you)
Enjoy and tell'em Hefe sent ya!
*** - only mentioned the ride to work to remind me to include a shout out to some great online SWG fans that not only satisfied my SWG cravings after NGE made me quit in disgust, but led me eventually to SWGEMU, and ultimately here to Awakening... for anybody looking for some basic SWG instruction vids with a healthy dose of nostalgia for pre-CU I highly recommend checking out any of the following (don't let the SWGEMU association discourage you... they focus on love of the game, not the specific emulator so lots of useful information in there for those unfamilar with pre-CU SWG):

- Hawkke (google "hawkke's swgemu") - good "Let's Play" series of vids on Youtube, made me nostalgic for the game as I recalled it and got me checking in from time to time on SWGEMU and their progress...
- Mobyus1 (google "mobyus1 swg") - another excellent "how to play" Youtube series with a lot of interesting stories thrown in from his days back on LIVE. Informative and entertaining, especially if you have never played before...
- Rodd (google "rodd swg beta blunder") - awesome/detailed blog of one player's experiences from beta to blunder (CU/NGE) and then playing again on the SWGEMU (basilisk to suncrusher)... the blog reads from newest to oldest which is kind of a pain, but a great read none the less, and lots of classic screensnaps.
