Just like docs, why couldn't the ents use a droid to buff outside of a cantina? While a doc myself, I see it unfair I could pick anywhere I want to buff with a droid, while an entertainer has to remain in a cantina.

Conceptually the doc droid is as if you're bringing a medical station with you, why couldn't an ent bring a lightshow/boombox in a droid with them to set up at the starport?

Not true. They can buff in ranger camps. The only thing they require a cantina for is healing BF

Entertainers can Buff and Heal Wounds and Battle Fatigue in houses just at a slower rate than cantinas.

But what if I want to take an entertainer and wanted to buff inside of cnet starport? Its not going to work.

The argument I want to address is to be able to buff anywhere to get clients, not just friends and guildies. Unless you're in Mos Eisley cantina or in a city like Diarmid you're not going to get traffic. While yes you can buff at camps, unless someone knows you're there they're not going to stop by to grab a buff from you (or at least very unlikely). Wouldn't street performers be a thing conceptually?

Yeah I can see that being useful. It would be more of a convenience feature than anything else I think and considering this is a hard mode server, I doubt the Devs would go for it. Good luck tho.

Maybe at least camps can be changed to work better with ents? Now ent in camp doesn't heal anything, not sure about buffs.

so basically you are asking for npc cities to be reduced to just the starport terminal.
the inner circle of a star port would be a Spam of spacial chat bullshit

IMO cities are underused and there should be more players registering with a NPC building with perhaps getting a bonus for publicly registering

granting all NPC cities with entertainment district and medical center and improved job market - even at a slightly less % than player city specs unless registered at a building would bring life back to the starport cities

im all for a ranger camps getting ent/medi bonus'

How fast an ent can heal in a camp depends on the camp. If you are in a High Tech field base made by a Ranger, then an Ent can do full buffs, heal all wounds, but cannot heal BF. That is the only thing that cannot be done by an ent outside of a cantina

if BF were to be altered in anyway imo it should be done with an adjustment to a food or drink or spice being used by the entertainer to alow BF to be healed

Which reduces value of camps. If most players need to hit cantina regularly anyway for BF, why bother with leet camp? IMO would be nice to encourage some camping culture by allowing players to stay far from cities longer. For example, if BF was partially healable in camps, like for every 10 aquired BF 1 point is unhealable in camp. So sooner or later most BF become unhealable in camp and player visits cantina.

Also making low-level camps more useful would help too. They dont have all features of VIP camps anyway so why not allow ents work there with reduced healing speed, not completely blocked ent effects. That also would encourage active ents to get out of cities. In cantinas 24/7 macroafkers are more reliable.

Part of the charm that is Star Wars, has been and always will be the Cantinas. If you think about it in one form or another they've had one in almost every movie. You would cheapen that experience for the luxury of easy mode buffs anywhere.

No. Everyone wants this or that to save time. Part of the experience of playing this game is to be around PEOPLE. What better place to do this but in the Cantina, the grand rest and relaxation point of the Star Wars Sagas.

There are NGE servers out there for this. They must be getting better at it because they start all over every 3-4 weeks and rename it something new.

Even in the NGE you had to use cantinas for a bonus.

How about turning it a bit around though in another way though.... so you go to the cantina and get the buffs but instead you get 2 buff unique buff tokens for music and dance you can activate once you are at the location where you want to start a fight with maybe a 30 minute timer on it for activating it or it is lost, timer could start as soon as you leave the cantina.

You would still have to be around people in cantinas to get them and still be listening and watching for 3 to 5 minutes for both music/dance.

Part of the charm that is MMORPG, has been and always will be social experience. Not just shooting in same directions but actually recover together after fight near campfire. Many adventure movies feature similar scenes. Star Wars stories include a fair bit of survival outside of comfy bases and main characters don't run back to city every time they need rest. Current set up cheapens that experience for the luxury of easy mode 24/7 ent bots in safe cantinas.

Everyone wants different things, but purists generalise everything they don't like as "just want easy", "just want autowin". Part of the experience of playing multiplayer game is to PLAY with PEOPLE, not just afk /watch macroed character in same place. What better place to do this but in camp, the grand rest and relaxation point of any adventure saga.

There are SWTOR servers out there for purists. Fancy stories for SW lovers and everything is in right place - dancers in cantina, mobs in forest, characters follow railway within precious lore and whole "adventure with other players part" is screwed.

I have always been curious about this idea that SWG was a "people playing with people" game. From its inception the game mechanics have pushed players away from one another. Sure there where places you could go to reconnect and spend time with other players, ie the cantina, but by and large the game separated players time and again. A few examples...the entire Jedi grind, the Holo grind, BH (after the short lived gank squad days), crafters being limited to a very short ranged crafting machine, ents having arguably the longest grind of any profession, ID's only being able to work in one of like 6 places. Isolation is a prevailing theme of SWG, so where does this kumbaya sentiment come from?

People take the suggestion forum a little too far sometimes. The point is to make small changes, not a complete workaround or redo of professions. We aren't looking to make huge changes to the game, plain and simple. Adding a few features here and there. I'm sorry if having to get buffs every couple of hours or having to go to and entertainer for 10 minutes is so game-breaking or a waste of your time. This server is for people who liked SWG the way it was pre-cu, with a pinch more of challenge.

We aren't here to save you time. It's not the purpose of this server. If you want games that cater to this there are plenty of them out here. We aren't 100% "purists", but we aren't leaning towards CU or NGE except for a few in-game vanity items. This server is going to take time, it's going to be harder and yes you are going to have to do things the difficult, time-consuming way. It's apparent we do have quite a few trolls lately looking to start trouble in threads.

If you have a really really good suggestion that is reasonable, by all means post it. We aren't re-working this game the way people want. The buffing professions are what they are. Like it and move on. For those who can't get over it, THERE ARE BUFF TERMINALS ALL OVER THE FREAKIN PLACE. NO WAIT TIMERS!!!
