Commando PVP viable

I can on this forum that commando, if done right, can solo some pretty difficult mobs, but how does it do in PVP? I'm trying to go toward a good PVP build and I would like to try mando because the allure of the flamethrower is kinda hard to resist.

Keyboard commandos PvP (with varying levels of success) at least almost every evening on this server. Usually good for a laugh.

Oh! You meant the profession? Commando is super useful for a lot of PvE, however for factional PvP is likely relegated to a support role. Adding that burn is a great annoyance when one is getting mind shotted, poisoned, etc. Heavy weapons can pack a whallop as well. However with primary damage being mitigated by 90% PvP armor, it's likely not going to be a "go to" build like CM or stun weapons.

That said, there's at least one very effective Commando/BH running around, so it's doable. Any class can be useful in PvP because it is what you make it; find yourself a group of complimentary PvPers.

And the rest I keep quite but good defense and quite successful in pvp and pve
