I am thinking of eventually becoming a CH. I currently have a mount at level 9 if I become a CH will the level of that mount change? I just want to know so in case I want to use the mount if I drop the prof.

No, the pet will remain at whatever level it is/was. If it's level 9 it will remain level 9. You will be able to use higher level mounts though as you move up the CH tree.

Keep the level 9 mount just in case you want to drop CH later. Non-CH can always use mounts up to level 10.
