So it has come to my attention that a lot of Imperial foes are tapping out and some outright quitting the game. This slightly troublesome because I am running out of red to kill, so it is not good for me or the server. My game play tends to be a little trashtalkie and aggressive but 98% of my hostilities and trash talk are just me RP'ing. So for a good while I will be dialing back my PVP activities, this includes BH'ing Imp Jedi and hunting/terming Imp padawans. I will encourage but can't control my hunting buddies to do the same. I will be exploring other areas of the game for a bit. I emphasize I am dialing back not outright quitting PVP.

Trashtalk and agressiveness in pvp is what pvp is, not just RPing. The line between harrassment and rp is when people let the trashtalk get to a personal level and continue it across every toon the other person knows about. Thats why your red dots are disappearing, we have better things to do with our time than listen to childish remarks about our families, real life situations, or petty ingame conflict. Especially if we log to another toon just to make a gun, or brew a brandy, or sew a dress. Most of us are adults. We have differant kinds of stresses that we come to this game to relieve. Its those who act like COD kiddies that ruin the game play b/c they dont know when to stop. Thats why your red dots are disappearing, and will continue to do so.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, players come and go. Factions flux back and forth over a period of time. We've seen it happen many times. Most of the people who quit have good reasons, some have work, family, school that takes away from play time. The drama queens, whiners, and pussies will leave for other reasons we really don't care about. They were doomed to fail here from the beginning. Until your red dot quota goes up there are plenty of things to do.

There is no need dial anything back. As far as the community goes we are stronger than we've ever been. As Cynar stated people will leave for a multitude of reasons.

In PvP there is always trash talking but the difference is at the end of the day we are all part of Awakening and it should never be personal. Bring the fight. Trash talk all you want but everyone has to understand the bigger picture. You are all part of the Awakening family first. That in itself should be respected and for the most part it is respected by everyone.

We expect there to be heated debates as to which faction is better. We expect there to be epic battles and equally epic trash talk. It's part of the GCW and the game as a whole. But we, as the parents of this crazy family, also expect there to be mutual respect. With that said people will interpret things differently. Feelings will get hurt. People will either complain, bring drama and quit or they will rise up, recruit and rally their troops and bring retribution in the form of a good ol' GCW asskicking. This is how it's supposed to go. At the end of the day people who cannot or choose not to hack it would have left anyway...they just needed a reason and in the end the server will be much better for it.

I think the bigger picture here, is the OP recognizes that there is a feeling of why bother among the Imperials right now. "We're out numbered, I'm gonna die, I don't feel like listening to the shit talking after I get dead, so why bother?" "They have more Jedi than we do, we're gonna die, I don't want to listen to the shit storm after I die, so why bother?" Let the baby jebi grind up a little and we'll have more people to PvP with.

The community here is amazing. The Imperial side was very jebi heavy a while back, and so they were the winners in PvP more often. People left, we got an even greater influx of new people. It won't be long before the Imperial side has their feet under them again, and things will take off again in the PvP department.

I know CryptO hasn't always been my greatest fan, but I'll say thanks for recognizing the Imperials are feeling a little down trodden right now, and letting them get a chance to collect themselves again. (even though I did switch sides and am a rebel now on most of my toons)

I'll come out and call it what it is. We Imperials have a lack of leadership right now. Things got tough and people bailed. As Rhaige said we need to regroup and rebuild. It will take time. As an Imperial I'd like to know who's gonna step up, take the PvP reigns and bring it to the rebellion? I get why Crypto wants to dial it back as it's not fun to get hate tell after hate tell after a fight but know this Crypto - That lone Zabrak you ran into that was overt near the Sarlacc Pit a few weeks back was my alt, Zarrak. Even though you thoroughly dispatched him I thanked you for a decent fight.

Some of us are out there and we're waiting. Bring it. We will rise again...it's only a matter of time.

There is HUGE misconception about factional balance on Awakening...

1) About 6-9 months ago MANY players switched from Imperial to Rebel because all the Rebels were crying... (yes some of the same Rebels now bragging, were crying)
2) Awakening is a community. We are more than Rebel vs Imperial and players need to remember that. Awakening is in fact the largest of all the Live SWG server by at least 3 to 1.
3) Is there a slight imbalance of sides at the moment? yes... but quitting Awakening because you can't handle it, is not the answer. Face your enemy! Recruit their soldiers! Flip the sides once more.
4) Lastly, true server community leaders should (rise above...OOC) encourage balance on the server. Yes, you want your guild to be #1 but if there is no enemy your will be #1 alone.

Yeah - I spent a couple days overt and wasn't having many encounters, so today I jumped ship to imperial.
Its true - its definitely up to the community to keep the balance, and hopefully this helps a bit.
Hopefully will get some PVP going, and i'm excited (and scared since I know what you're packin) to see you guys on the battlefield. I'm hoping the imperials are ready to step it up too!

Pak, I salute you. It's truly something up to individuals to step up and fight for balance.

If someone wants PvP on the server they will adjust and make it more of a challenge.

Off topic: Suppose you were a Knight - is it possible to switch to the opposite faction? Do you have to drop Knight first, switch faction, and go through the trials again?

I'm assuming you have to drop under the perma-overt threshold to switch faction?

You would have to completely redo the trials. Which makes me SO thankful that I did this before I began mine!

I'l do them in a couple weeks after real life calms down a bit.

Beast is really hoping to give some life to Pvp , we don't take it personally . And are always respectful but do have a sense of mischief that we appreciate in ourselves and others. It is not our primary focus, but a lot of our members cannot resist the red dot. Kardue... you couldn't have switched before you killed us at the LJM lol ::)
On a side note, I do hope you all will come to the event on April 9. Win or lose we want a sense of fun and community even if we are a-shooting at each other. Just wait till you hear go k ? Can you do it ?
