Is Awakening using old SwgEmu code? I have just started playing on awakening and noticed alot of desyncing and other issues in combat standing up after a forced stance change.
I know from playing on Basilisk that the desync issue has been corrected as I run 2 toons and switch between them quite often and have not experienced a desync in atleast a month as for the combat issue I do not notice it at all on Basilisk.
Just curious as to what version Awakening may be running not trying to flame or anything like that

Hi Temolan,
We are currently running Emu code with various elements from earlier this year (with some Awakening changes). Our next patch will include many of the changes Emu released this summer. We don't have a timetable on that at this time, but it shouldn't be too far off.

Any more information on this upcoming patch? I tried asking a few people and everyone has either not known or been tight lipped.

Not at this time, no further news. While there are other development efforts going on, personally I have been occupied outside of SWG and unable to dedicate much time.

Fixing the desync issue ALONE makes me all fuzzy inside. =D

That's really unfortunate to hear. The desync issue has been fixed on Bas since Pub.8 (maybe before?).

Gotta have coders willing to put stuff in place. Swg gets in the way of real life. Wives, kids, jobs & all of the above. Everyone capable of doing what we need to finish our custom code and implementing the last years worth of emu code is tied up on other things right now. It's just the reality of life. Not saying it won't ever happen, it's just not going to be anytime soon.

I wrote a long post but decided against it. I'm not trying to rustle any feathers and i'm sure everyone here appreciates all the work that goes into running Awakening and swgemu in general. It's just frustrating to know that a possible fix has existed for months but nothing has been said about it here.

Might I suggest a "Road map for Awakening" style post every now and then from the devs?

Without going into nuts and bolts, it's a bit more complicated than plug and play or else it'd be in already. As Cynar stated, it's an issue of available time.

If I'm missing something and you're seeing a simple fix, by all means PM me and we can discuss it. Or better yet put in an application for code contributor. ;)

Man they don't have time to code or implement existing code, where in the world is a roadmap going to come from? lol

Believe me when I say there is no one more frustrated than the staff, coding skills or not. We all want things to be updated and new features put in place. Our 3 developers are all working 70+ hours a week at their careers, so as of right now we are in standard operating mode. Maybe once we have people that know how to code & available to put the time in progression will happen. A roadmap is useless without the people to work on the road.

Plenty of coders out there eager to jump in, then real life reminds them hobbies come second or third to RL. Believe me Ed & Xiphos would rather be filthy rich and work on this 80 hours a week. That's just not how it is. If a wealthy benefactor wants to step up then maybe some coders could be hired. Until then we will eek by until someone has time to help us out. Xiphos locked this and i'm keeping it locked. It's been addressed now in at least 4 different threads and either people will understand and be patient or they won't.
