Hello all! Like a few of the other more recent threads' posters I found out about SWGemu from a Kotaku/io9 article and decided to give it a shot! This fulfills a 12+ year old dream of mine to play Galaxies...when I was in high school I dreamed of playing Galaxies but never had a computer that could handle it. By the time I moved off to college World of Warcraft was out and...yeah. So I hopped on ebay, found a cheap copy of the game, and am now eagerly awaiting its arrival!
Back to the point, I have a (maybe dumb) question: in the FAQs under 'How many accounts can I have?' it says "You can only have one account. Each account provides 8 character slots & up to 2 characters online at the same time. Exceptions are made for family, roommates, and others living in the same household." Does this mean my girlfriend and I can both play on the same account at the same time on different computers? If not I guess I need to find another copy...
Welcome! Glad you found the server. It is really the most supportive group of folks out there. Just note that most of the NPC cities, save Mos Eisley, are pretty just used as transit. The action is at player cities around the galaxy. If you have any questions or need help getting settled in, The Journeymen <TJM> are always willing to assist. Look forward to seeing you in game.
You can have 10 toons total, no more then two online at once. You can ask for an exception. There is a place in the forums for more than one account. I believe you submit a ticket.
Come check us out in Bedrock, Tatooine. We have all the basic profession trainers, buffs, vendors, etc... AND the most beautiful location on Tatooine!

You each should have an account, as lassic pointed out. Please check out the rules here http://www.swgawakening.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=503 and submit a ticket (Support>Submit A Ticket) prior to creating a second account so that our server checks don't flag your IP. Please include the username she would like in that ticket. If your request is approved, we will add you to our list of exceptions and you're good to go.

Awakening also has its own teamspeak feel free to pop on there anytime, come get to know us and have fun. You can find most people hang out on destiny channel as it's an open door policy so all sorts of rift raft come in .
If your ever on corellia why not pop to new destiny it is 1km south of coronet star port. It is an entertainment district so 3 hour buffs, home to server famous sistri and airy who both entertain in the bespin cantina. Also other rare buildings to see are wookie tree house and yt1300(millennium falcon style) house. There are plenty of well decorated shops,a massive mall and a lot of tent shops. The city prides itself on offering everything under one city. 24/7 entertainment and doctor buffs available.
Welcome to Awakening. You'll be dropped into Neutral Chat regardless of what faction you pick at character creation. The community here is fabulous. Ask if you have any questions. Don't forget to add instant messages to neutral chat so you can see if someone sends you a /tell to answer something from neutral. Try looking in the auction tab for people advertising ent buffs and doc buffs. People will tend to congregate where they can get buffs before running out to do missions. Enjoy your stay with us!

Another Q: what's the faction breakdown on the server? Does any side vastly outnumber the other? Is there any class/profession that's not very common? Just wondering!

I would urge you, though, to submit a ticket for the second account - for several reasons.
1. You do not need a second copy of the game, so there is no need to acquire additional discs
2. It is technically against the rules to share accounts (though I'm not sure how strictly this is enforced).
3. There will probably come a time where one or both of you want to have two characters on at the same time.

Thanks for that! I just put in a submission for two accounts. I was unclear on the "two characters online" part since I've never played SWG but I assume you can leave a character online macroing or something?
