Expanded species - DEFINITELY NOT HUTTS!
The files for additional species are readily available and I think this would be a great way to attract role players to the server (it's so depressing not seeing anyone in the city cantinas) and to get existing players to re-roll characters for something to do (new or something they have already done). I understand there are some issues with a few of the species, so just ignore those or, hell, have the community vote on the forums.
Vehicles
An entire slew of vehicles exist that could be added for some diversity. I think simply adding these to the loot table is a little boring (other than the av-21 on the corvette), but what about expanding the racetrack record holder to more than just 24 hours (maybe a week or month) and reward a random vehicle for holding the record. I have also seen another server add a "mechanic" profession branching off from artisan where each skillbox grants different vehicles; a lot more work, but I do feel it's a neat idea.
Jedi Unlock
Sadly I have figured out (for the most part) how the unlock system works and feel it can be improved greatly, but I don't want to speak about it publicly.
Jedi & Bounty Hunter
I know this one gets A LOT of recommendations (and complaining), but it's pretty broken in my honest opinion. As it stands, MOST BH's and Jedi are forced into cookie cutter templates and it's very reminiscent of post-CU with even LESS viable choices. Sure, you can choose something outside of the norm and be guaranteed to die at the hands of any bounty hunter that takes your mission, but nobody is going to do that and, to be fair, only skilled bounty hunters should be able to kill a full template jedi.
Jedi:
I think to get diversity on the jedi side, NOT having master lightsabers needs to be viable. As it stands right now, especially since dervish 1 and 2 were swapped (dervish 1 is supposed to be the cone attack), majority of jedi I've spoken to get MLS simply to defend themselves from bounty hunters; that is 41 wasted skill points! And then you have majority of jedi doing master defender for the same reason mostly, again, it's a silly waste of points.
IF adjustments can be made the BH strength, I would consider limiting jedi to ONE master profession to more closely align to iconic star wars and bring about diversity and teamwork. I know I'll probably catch flack for this, but any jedi profession is already over powered (which is fine, they worked for it), but having a situation where one jedi can be an elite tank AND elite DPS just doesn't make sense to me (outside of the BH situation of course). I think it makes more sense to see master defender with only 0044 sabers for example; they are a great tank and still good with sabers, but not OP.
Bounty Hunter:
I mean no offense to bounty hunters (I love the profession), but everyone has been molded into a fast blasting, trap throwing robot. Like jedi, there are other options there, but nothing is as viable as a master BH with 4400 scout and an LLC. I know the intention was to make ranged bounty hunters able to take down jedi, which is iconic (if you can call an LLC iconic), but you RARELY see anything other than a BH with an LLC now (maybe a flamethrower here or there). I think the problem is a mix of fast blast being OP and zero love for any other weapons (and melee gets completely shafted).
Now, I love the idea of BH's being able to use traps, this was genius, but again, it's a little much. I wouldn't say completely remove traps, but a jedi can heal if knocked down, but not in a trap? I don't understand that. My suggestion on traps would be to allow a jedi to heal while trapped, pretty simple. If you wanted to take it a step further, allow the traps thrown by master BH (ranged) to completely freeze the jedi (as it does now), but also allow traps to be used at less than master so melee professions can throw traps that only snare/slow down (give melee bh some love please)!
Jedi population:
BH is the main jedi population control at the moment and I don't think it was ever a good solution. It's essentially a bandaid on a bigger problem. Why not impliment a system that includes a server cap? Obviously just a cap wouldn't be a good thing, but lets say jedi can ascend and descend in status. The current unlock system can stay the same, but feed into a queue of sorts. So for example, lets say a current jedi doesn't log in for a month, they then lose jedi status and next in queue becomes a jedi. Now I'm not saying strip someone of their jedi skills if they lose status, but disable them until they can complete a set of tasks (similar to knight trials) and then they re-queue until the next jedi loses status. This could even take a page out of the permadeath book and say after 3 deaths in a week (or some preset number) that jedi loses their status and has to queue back up and wait.
I'm sure I have more ideas, but my brain is hurting.

I like all of your suggestions. I cant say I agree with all but they seem well thought out, and would be interesting to be a fly on the wall if your ideas ever came up in debate with the devs.
It is hard for criticism to ever be taken as positive, but please know my following criticism is not meant to cause drama or make you feel bad, or feel like you need to defend yourself. You are a much more active and experienced member in this community than I am and anyone who is anyone knows that.
I really wish you had not posted you know how the Jedi unlock system works.
I will not blather on about all my amazing memories from times past(which most of all of us have), even though any opportunity to do so, is hard to resist.
I simply want to say I have never had a Jedi, I have never been a Jedi. I don't think I have ever made it past 3rd step of Force Awareness on any char. I have played thousands of hours on this game. I have read posts upon posts on various forums discussing Jedi Unlock and the various systems. I made it a commitment to myself to seek the force by not seeking it, and to take to heart "May the Force be with you" and let the force show itself to me, when that cosmic alignment of randomly chosen requirements are met for my Star Wars Avatar.
Then I read " I have figured out how to unlock Jedi".
Somehow part of me feels like you know the amount of PM's and tells this will probably generate, with you as the recipient of a thousand desperate questions. Honestly, the moment I read that , it took quite a bit of self control and remembering my earlier oath to myself and to the Force, as someone who has not even been close to Jedi, to immediately start pestering you for the secret.
I am not sure and it may already be very public info, but I don't think Mr. Ed would appreciate that one comment in your suggestions. I am not him nor an I speak for anyone but myself.
Anyways , great suggestions, and I believe with the way you thought out the post you can definitely drop future suggestions without dropping bombs like knowledge of Jedi unlock .
Thank you for all your posts , I do enjoy reading an experience community members insights and ideas.

Well, let me state, I have no intention of sharing anything. If anyone asks they will promptly get sent on a wild goose chase. What I worry about is that if I can figure it out, so can other people and then it's only a matter of time for it to get out there. I definitely do not want to see that happen. So really the reason I brought it up was so that Ed knows people are starting to catch on in hopes that it can be adjusted before it's too late.Sithheadhunter wrote: Then I read " I have figured out how to unlock Jedi".

Players, when other players claim they know, they really don't. Please do not buy into the bullshit. This deliberate trolling is now over with a warning to the OP. Dont want it, don't need it here.
