New and need some advice

Hey everyone, played some back in the day and remember having loads of fun so was pretty excited when I found out about Awakening. Just installed everything, including teamspeak, but I had a couple questions.

How would you recommend getting started? I looked around the forums trying to find a new player guide or even some beginner class guides but couldn't find anything.
Also, how do I go about joining the teamspeak server? Says I'm only a guest at the moment so I don't have permission to join the chat.

Welcome! Glad you found the server. It is really the most supportive group of folks out there. Just note that most of the NPC cities, save Mos Eisley, are pretty just used as transit. The action is at player cities around the galaxy. If you have any questions or need help getting settled in, The Journeymen <TJM> are always willing to assist. Look forward to seeing you in game.

Your best bet is to get out to the player cities. Most of the people running buffers understand new folks. Just send them a mail or a tell letting them know and they will not ignore or ban you from their service. Bedrock has all of the basic professions and most combat professions, and our Research center, Mos Crumpit has all the crafting profession trainers, and also a ent burner, with doc resources, med packs etc, to grind out medic. Check it out.

Come check us out in Bedrock, Tatooine. We have all the basic profession trainers, buffs, vendors, etc... AND the most beautiful location on Tatooine!

If your ever on corellia why not pop to new destiny it is 1km south of coronet star port. It is an entertainment district so 3 hour entertainer buffs, home to server famous sistri and airy who both entertain in the bespin cantina. Also other rare buildings to see are wookie tree house and yt1300(millennium falcon style) house. There are plenty of well decorated shops,a massive mall and a lot of tent shops. The city prides itself on offering everything under one city. 24/7 entertainment and doctor buffs available.

If your interested in joining a guild I always advice to play the server first meet people and try out player cities before making a decision see what's a good fit for you.

On the ts question you need someone with permissions to pull you into the channels and remove your guest status . You can usually ask in neutral chat in the game if there is someone around . Part of the fun is fiddling around at first trying to make money and don't forget other players can train you to save a bit of cash. Good luck , also here are some guides by Mobyus1 on youtube . First, I would start by reading the Awakening Rules.
This will inform you, among other important information, that your account provides 10 character slots & up to 2 characters online at the same time.

If you still need armor and help getting buffs, let me know your in-game name and I will help you out. I recommend mastering an elite combat class first as you can do high paying missions for cash to be able to do what you love in game. I prefer TKA to start out for many reasons.
- inexpensive. You only need 1 weapon from start to finish and don't need to buy speed tapes
- plenty of +speed and fast weapon speed allows you to hit speed cap while leveling which means massive damage!
- Getting +speed, +damage and best Spin Attack in the same tree is amazing
- Amazing defenses. TKA takes the least amount of melee damage of all the professions
- Meditate is very popular as well

There are a number of good towns and guilds. Personally I would start with what planet you like best and go from there. If you plan on being a crafter you want a crafting Research town, preferably one that has ties to a town that has plenty of merchants to sell your wares. If mainly for adventuring go with a Entertainment district for 3 hour buffs.. just make sure there's a 24/7 entertainer and a doc set up there, or a Improved job market for more cash.

I hold Serenity Naboo (Entertainment district) and also we hold Haven Naboo 1k down the road which is research. I can tell you we always are open to new players and happy to help you along. No matter where you decide, if you need help feel free to reach out and ask!

All the posters here are great people to know. Getting started can be daunting, but the best advice is just ask questions in neutral chat, there is always someone there that is more than willing to give advice or help out.

I also run out of Serenity which is starting to grow more, and has 24/7 Dancer and doctor(s). The only danger is that Sionix tends to try lure new players into her kitchen to turn them into bivoli.
