I load fairly instantly but I like playing with tweaks.

If your ram is an issue you might want to make sure your security essentials client isn't scanning itself. Or it could be another windows issue.

Full instructions for those that aren't Windows savy (like me):

1. Open the file explorer from the main menu
2. Right click on "This PC", it is in the tree menu on the left hand side
3. Click "Properties"
4. Click "Advanced system settings"
5. Select the "Advanced" tab and click on the "Environment Variables" button.
6. Click "New" and add the variable "SWGCLIENT_MEMORY_SIZE_MB" with the value 2048 (or small if you don't have much RAM)

i do have a question though, increasing the ram cap to 2gb sounded like an amazing idea, but then i thought about, what if i'm dual logging?,
would that mean 2 clients each trying to hog 2gb?,
my laptop is a little dated with it's 4gb ddr3 ram lol.

The logic that your system will use if the max amount of ram used per client is 2GB. That doesn't mean your client is always using all of that 2GB. So if you have 2 clients open at once; the most they will both be able to use is 2GB per client. The fact you only have 4GB physical ram would mean once it runs out of hardware it would most likely start using virtual memory which your OS handles. So theoretically you could max out both clients thru use of virtual memory, but likely your machine would start running really really slow.

Something you might want to consider before changing those settings and running two clients at once. I ran two clients at once during live while running xp with 2gb of ram. I had to really tweak my game settings so my system wouldn't choke.

In addition to what Cynar said, I've personally monitored my own RAM usage out of curiosity and found that it tends to not use even close to the full 2 GB allotted. It's been a while, but I think I had a baseline of around 500 MB (per client) and I don't remember much more than 1 GB at peaks. Your mileage may vary obviously, but I think you'd probably be fine.

On the downside I'm now getting "the look."

On the upside I get to advertise my nerd-flag and SWG.
