Also, I am just realizing this was part of a guide thread. I apologize for derailing and if staff would like to move this conversation I would definitely be amenable to that.

What it will actually do is make all ranged classes worthless. 10m is the same as a pistols ideal. Meaning Swordsman would be a pistoleer with weapons that do the same damage or more than a T-21, and since Pistoleer has no Melee mitigation it would be much much worse. Best BH class would end up being mSwords, BH 4xxx, Medic 2x3x, and it would be a good player killer as well with 20m lunges, mind bleeds, and dizzy/knockdowns.timex1 wrote:Because ranged classes being able to kiting everything in game without getting touched just makes things way to easy.jasonh wrote:Shadow, has the decision to implement this been made already? If so, I'd be interested to hear the reasoning...this is a game-changing mechanic in many respects.ShadowWalker wrote:Things may be changing with that once the new patch comes out, and many will have to rethink their strategies
Plus this 10m range will make melee classes more viable in PvP.

Not totally, however the information on resists/damage types is still correct. If you are chasing a rifleman build (as indicated by your other thread) dizzy/post down, mind bleeds and head shot are your friend. Get master rifle, a good T21 (overall damage for across the board resists), a good DXR-6 or jawa (acid/stun damage for Tuskens), and you'll be heading in the right direction. Always examine nightsister/spider clan/SMC to check resists on the 325/328 difficulty missions.
IMO.

So the "Master Marksman, Brawler 4xxx, Scout 4xxx, Medic 2xxx, Pistoleer 3x43, Novice Commando, Smuggler x1xx, Bounty Hunter 4x4x" is no longer a viable build for high end PvE BH Missions?jasonh wrote:Not totally, however the information on resists/damage types is still correct. It is a totally viable build. I run this on my BH.Brodie wrote:So the "Master Marksman, Brawler 4xxx, Scout 4xxx, Medic 2xxx, Pistoleer 3x43, Novice Commando, Smuggler x1xx, Bounty Hunter 4x4x" is no longer a viable build for high end PvE BH Missions?jasonh wrote:Not totally, however the information on resists/damage types is still correct. It is. Based on your other thread, I didn't think that was the way you wanted to go. The primary changes between now and the original guide were a loot nerf, melee range increase (making kiting less helpful), and, I'd imagine with the last reset, force choke from the NS types ignoring armor.Brodie wrote:So the "Master Marksman, Brawler 4xxx, Scout 4xxx, Medic 2xxx, Pistoleer 3x43, Novice Commando, Smuggler x1xx, Bounty Hunter 4x4x" is no longer a viable build for high end PvE BH Missions?

I'm rolled newly aspiring BH and was wondering what changes need to be, if any, to this build given the updated over the last couple of months.
Much thanks in advance for the input.

Will you be doing PVE or Jedi hunting?
If PVE this build is totally viable. Jedi hunting is a whole other game and answers will be as different as everyone's playstyles are. The above build is still one of my all time favorites for PVE Hunting. If you try to go after Jedi with this build it will not be pretty as you'll be crushed in mere seconds.

Thank you Maldred. I plan to stick to PvE hunting, never been that great at PvP.
I'll keep plugging along with this build.

355 missions are the best. They offer the same highest end possible loot as the highest difficulty missions (367) and the targets do not use force attacks. Here is what I do:DackalRigan wrote:Thank you Maldred. I plan to stick to PvE hunting, never been that great at PvP.
I'll keep plugging along with this build.
1) Equip a Stun or Acid dmg weapon (both are 0% resistance)
2) get within 100m of target, put away vehicle, burst run towards target
3) spam warcry (if you have it) until warcry lands
4) clear combat que of warcry, and then I attack
5) always stay in melee range, or else, if you get in range range you could possibly get 1-2 shot killed. These tusken shots are no joke.
Enjoy the Random loot

This all sounds very interesting and I feel like trying BH now. How long do missions regularly last with the tracking and all? 150k is nice but not for something that might take an hour. Just wondering.

355's are the way to go, and yes they have 0 acid resists.zzyzxisinthemix wrote:355 missions are the best. I do the following with no heals, no melee, and only 4 in pistols.
1. Buffs/80% mini suit/bleed resist clothing and food. Also damage reduction food and brandy. Plus a Muon as an oh shit button.
2. As mentioned above sprint into melee range and use your pistol KD.
3. Apply health dots, torso shot, and then spam body shot. It doesn't hurt to use bleeding shot either to blind him.
4. The trick is to run around in a circle or in patterns to keep him turning to hit you in melee. Some of these guys will stay in melee and chase you, some will whip out a carbine at like 5m-7m out. It's weird. The ones that chase you in melee are the easiest of course, the ones that won't stay in melee require lots of strafing and jagging in and out while staying right in the sweet spot range. Beyond keeping him in melee range you have to consider intimates and blinds that will make you miss quite a bit.
Keep your dots on and and monitor your mind for muon if he uses a lucky rifle shot.
Usually nets you 600 to 650 BH exp and 60k. + tapes/taches/random drops
The hard part is the droid malfunctions, and the 15 minute rides to get to them on LOK. Haha. Minimum time is 20 minutes, max is probably 30-35 if they are far enough out. So you can maybe get 2-3k per buff session if you're lucky and on a hustle.

I know this is an old thread but I found it and was really liking the build the OP posted. However I have learned that you can no longer slice BH terminals. So what would a good suggest build be for PVE BH now? I was thinking of just dumping the Smuggler points into pistoleer and going 3244 in there. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks.

This guide looks really good. I was curious if this is still viable for a PVE centered build?
