Greetings fellow Jedi. ;)

I made this little guide for those Jedi who don't know much about the Jedi Respec System.
(Currently only for the Test Center, we're still waiting for the update on live, all this might change on live)

Respec:
When you first login on your Jedi, you will have lost all your Jedi skills and greeted by a Promt telling you to visit Noldan to regain your Jedi skills.
Noldan is located near the Jedi Village on Dathomir.
Dathomir (4901, -3808)

At Noldan you will have to choose 24 FS Boxes (-the novice) to continue. (Free)

After that you have to go to your normal Jedi Trainer. If you can't remember where he/she is, or want a new trainer.
Use this command: /findmytrainer
This will create a Waypoint called "Jedi Skill Trainer"
Move Keybindings from Live to Test:
Search for your AwakeningSWG Folder on your drive.
Inside the folder you will see a "profiles" folder, in there is all your Keybindings, Settings etc.
You want to Copy all the content of "Awakening Server" into "Awakening Test Server"

Please make a backup of your "Awakening Test Server" and "Awakening Server" just incase. :)

My advice to all those Jedi heading for respec. Get buffed before you leave for Dathomir, you won't have any skills to protect you. Be very cautious on your ride there and back. CSR's won't bail you out. You are getting one free respec and one only. This would normally take weeks and weeks to regrind on your own. Visibility hasn't changed and is not being reset. Neither is xp loss. Don't ask for any favors and don't put in any tickets.

Go convert your points, then go see your trainer. Be cautious during the entire process for Bounty Hunters and difficult npcs. May the force be with you.

Thanks to Anker as always for the helpful guide.

Will we have some sort of idea on what jedi skills have been fixed or changed before the respec?

Such as:
Powers
skills not working (animal attack etc..), damage from Choke, poor accuracy innate defenses etc...
Enhancer
states tree not working
Healer
Healallself
Healallother

I think its important that we know what is going to remain broken before we get a chance to respec

Is there any information on this?

Thanks

There will be patch notes prior to going live, but the best way is probably to hop on test when we have our final iteration and get a feel for yourself.

Noldan is supposed to give force sensitive xp and Paemos (Shrek) is supposed to convert normal xp to fs xp.

In RoE I have not heard of any issues with people not getting fs skills. They are zero xp cost at the moment and do use up 24 points.

Your case seems most odd.

Post (or PM if you're uncomfortable posting) in more detail and we can sort you out. We are of course interested if something is not working as planned, but also need some more specifics.

Please post any issues encountered on the Test Server to the appropriate forum. /viewforum.php?f=100

Not only is this information important for staff to look into - we have many other testers who can/will attempt to reproduce issues to help us resolve them.

How far along the Jedi path does one need to be to get a respec and not have to complete the village quests? I was told one needed to have trained at least 1 box would this be at least one novice box or one box beyond novice?

This does not mean if you get one box then you will be a Jedi Master. You will still need to level, so I wouldn't stop. If you only have one box, you will get one box to spend on.

Current Jedi
Jedi skills will be reset. You will be refunded all Jedi Experience spent on said skills. This will be used later when you redo your templates.
Your negative experience is zero'd out before refunding the Jedi experience.
You will receive one free Force Sensitive skill respec. This means that you will not have to go through the process of converting the various kinds of experience into force sensitive experience. Force Sensitive skills will cost no experience for this respec (up to 24 points spent). Think of this as a kind of "grandfathering" for current Jedi.

New Jedi
The unlock process will be about the same as it was before. Just follow the questline and it will guide you along. The only difference being that you now have to convert various kinds of normal experience into FS experience, then invest 24 skill points into FS skills before moving onto Padawan. Warning, the conversion rates will be set to difficult.

I like this :) I always felt that one skill box makes sense to lead into the next one, ie you need to learn a basic hit in TK to bea able to know about better attacks, pistoleer stances make perfect sense, and so on.

When someone unlocks, it makes sense that they apply what they already know (medic xp to fs xp) to gain a basic knowledge of the force, before becoming a padawan.

Awesome stuff!

i dont want to come across as stupid but only negative xp will go away right? if I happen to be positive it will just be added to the jedi XP i get back to spend on the new temp?
i only ask because on test everything worked except when i ran out of XP to finish temp even though im full temp now, i was 180k short, so i were to say get +180k then pub goes live, i respec i should be good to go right back to full temp without having to grind again, correct?

If your experience meter is below the number 0, it will be set to 0. That is all that means.

Was able to get all 24 FS skills and redo my temp successfully. Also my banked xp was not erased after this last merger so that's exciting!

so im in this same boat i have unlocked but have not trained anything or even put my robe on i have 0 exp and 0 boxes in jedi trained. Per the test center i went down there with my spec i have on awakening talked to the npc and trained 24 boxes, then got a pop up about getting to train any jedi skill at my jedi trainer. If it doesnt change and if you have a robe in your inventory, you should be able to train 24 FS boxes. I think i dropped one box in medic to get the last 4 points.

per this post from cynar

the way i read it and what i just did on test center..if you are a jedi with a robe, you spend 24 points out of your template if you choose to be it jedi points or regular job points, or when ever you are ready to. For people who havent unlocked, you grind and badge till the old man comes, then grind out the FS boxes at whatever conversion rate is set to THEN you get padawan with a robe.

if it doesnt change i think im good, if you dont have a robe in your stash i think you have a few months more of grinding out those FS boxes.

I posted this in the test centre moan thread.
Anyone else experienced not having enough xp (not skill points) to recreate their template after respect?

After training enough boxes and spending enough skill points to get the Knight perma-overt warning. This box continued to appear every time I trained a new box from then on.
At one point it appeared at the exact second I had trained a box and the trainer took the xp but didn't give the completed box and I ended up one box short of my template.

I've had no word as to if this is a known bug or not. or if this can be fixed by a CSR when live.

It's not a known bug. You are the only one to "experience" this. Not sure what you have done wrong. We don't refund XP for anything on Awakening. Let me say this again.....we don't refund or give you xp for anything......it's an emu, re-grind it!

Great job on getting pub eight to live.

Re tested respec yesterday.
Everything working very smoothly...except:

When training:

At the point where I spent enough skill points the box announcing return to overt status appeared repeatedly every time I trained a skill box after this point. On one occasion the box got in the way of the trainer's confirmation box and resulted in the trainer deduction the Jedi XP for the box trained but not awarding the box. I repeated and it accepted and awarded the box. However this left me 1.6m xp short of being able to reproduce my template and yes I have enough skill points left.

This may be a bug or it maybe that we should take extra care when performing a respec to work around this happening. It would be good to have the chance to test this again before live.

I had a similar experience. I choose boxes at the trainer and never got box. I figured it was the server and choose again. Second time worked. I didnt pay any attention to the experience deductions. Might explain why I was so short on experience.
