Hi everyone, thought I'd sign up to this server even though I can't play yet as I'm currently travelling the world, started at the end of November 2016 and so far I've been to Southern California, Houston, Texas, then on the Belize, then back to the US and Washington DC before moving on the south of France, where I am at the moment.

So why sign up? well, I stumbled upon a couple of videos uploaded to YouTube by Gospel and saw that someone had finally taken the SWGemu and created a pre-CU that captures the golden period perfectly, i.e Jedi unlock system secret (hopefully kept that way) and hopefully free of the mass Jedi grind that followed the holocron drops by the SOE muppets.
I hope to keep track of how things are going while I'm on the road and when I eventually return home, I'll get myself another copy of SWG (been kicking myself for a long time about dumping my original copy)

So onto the intro:

Your mains name on awakening: Warribo
Alts(if you want too list)
Profession: TKM in the day but want to dip my toe into each one, CH being top of my list followed by CM.
Favorite Planet: So hard to pick one, Tatooine will have to be up there as it just reeks of Star Wars.
Favorite planet to live on: Spent a long time living on Corellia before flowing my guild to Dantooine, before then moving to Naboo when my guild eventually left the game.
SWG Experience (How long you played on live or in what update pre-cu/CU/NGE)
I lived in the UK when SWG was released and tried to wait for the EU version to be released but I couldn't and ordered my copy from the US, hence I missed a few weeks and started playing around mid to late July 2003 (thank god I missed the sever rollbacks).

I played on the Valcyn server even after the EU version was released (don't think character transfers when offered at the time), for me I ended up joining an Australian guild called VictoryFlawless (vF), mainly playing on my own until the early mornings when the Oz's woke up and then back on my own during mid-day until the American guild members woke up in the afternoon.
Sadly a lot of my guild members left when WoW launched, but a fair number remained loyal to SWG.

I played a giant wookie (hence the name) and became a Master Commando, then dropped the profession a month before they brought in the patch to give players profession badges :(
I've played lots of professions, BH, Medic, Smuggler, Ranger, TKA, Pikeman, Pistoleer, Rifleman, SL, Carbineer, Swordsman, Armorsmith, Tailor, and thanks to the Holocron grind... Dancer... so embarrassing, can you imagine and giant Wookie dancing in the cantina, I couldn't exactly hide ^-^

So then we come to Jedi, I unlocked Jedi after the CU hit, which really annoyed me. I created my character on the understanding that if I were to unlock Jedi, the Jedi would be a new character, not my same character. For me a Wookie Jedi never seemed quite right, but I was stuck with it. And eventually completed my Jedi template a few weeks before the NGE hit. That's when everything turned to the brown smelly stuff to me. I stuck it out for a few months before eventually hanging up my lightsaber and I've been cursing SOE everyday since.

Welcome home! Glad you found the server. It is really the most supportive group of folks out there. Just note that most of the NPC cities, save Mos Eisley, are pretty just used as transit. The action is at player cities around the galaxy. If you have any questions or need help getting settled in, The Journeymen <TJM> are always willing to assist. We look forward to seeing you in game.

I hope you have a great time traveling. When you get back, come check us out. You will land in Mos Eisley to begin with when you create your toon.

Come check us out in Bedrock (Entertainment district) and Mos Crumpit (research center), Tatooine. We have all the basic profession trainers, buffs, vendors, etc... AND the most beautiful location on Tatooine! Come get your grind on!

Hello and welcome back to SWG and to Awakening.

If there's anything I can help with, please feel free to contact me in game or on forums.

Awakening has it's own teamspeak, feel free to pop on there anytime. Come get to know us and have fun! Very good and easy way to meet and get to know people and ask questions galore. You can find most people hang out on MG channel as it's an open door policy so all sorts of riff raff come in :) .

Teamspeak channel: ts3.swgawakening.com

Contact Turin or ask in neutral chat for someone who can give you permissions on the teamspeak channel. If I am not in game, you can contact me via pm on forums and I'll come on to give permissions so you're free to move around on teamspeak.

I am the end game strategist and huntsmen officer in MG guild.
We have 3 cities on the server:
New Destiny on Corellia is located 1km south of coronet. I am mayor there on Inziladun. It is an scientific society which means 3 hour mind buffs and enhanced doctor buffs also. There are 24/7 buffers there supplied by Airy Bubbles the entertainer - her solo group with 3 faction pets, and Novro the doctor, supplying bivoli buffs reaching to 2800+ buffs in the beautifully decorated bespin cantina. New Destiny is known as a very busy business hub, being the home to a lot of the server best crafters and their vendors. You can find pretty much everything you need there. Also check out the wookie treehouse mall where you find a lot of vendors and the Yt-1300 mall while in town.

MG also has 2 other cities both located on Tatooine:
Tuskens Bane has just celebrated its 2nd anniversary in April. The mayor of TB is Laschana. It is a beautifully decorated and laid out city with many houses and guild halls that are wonderfully decorated. Tuskens Bane is a industrial society, meaning you get bonuses to crafting assembly and experimentation . Arykha is the full time entertainer there with an ATST solo group, and Arckaine is the doc buffer. 24/7 buffs are supplied in the brilliantly decorated cantina. Check out the 2 mustafarian bunkers and Caledonians incredible bespin shop as well as 2 very well stocked malls while in town.

The second city of Tatooine is the newly made Ghorfas' Ruin, which is located 900m from Fort Tusken. It is a medical city with a resident doctor pookielamb and erkskine our 24/7 fully taped entertainer on the stage of the beautifully rustic designed cantina. It also is the home of 2 rebel and 2 imperial bases specifically located to the north and south of the city for faction grinding and base buffs. The city layout is currently getting set up with the city being split into rebel and imperial, and it will be a courtyard layout. With plenty of open area in centre of town to host events and pvp, pvp is openly encouraged here. There is a commando bunker mini mall set up that will have vendors very shortly and the cantina currently is looking for a full time entertainer but Tuskens Bane is only a shuttle trip away.

We do regular guild events such as pvp tournaments, quiz nights. And we have our Friday night krayt hunting. We have a lot of established players who daily go to geo caves, dwb, axkva and smc. They welcome people to join them to get involved and enhance themselves.

If you see any of the MG guys and gals around, we are all happy to assist anyone and are a massive family, so if we can help you out feel free to ask. Also feel free to use any of the cities facilities

Here is a list of officers in MG that you can contact if you need anything.

One thing to remember is that Belize is a third world country, I travelled around the Cayo district and then up to north Belize before going to Belize city for a couple of nights before flying out (spent three months there in total).

I'd say the best time to go would be February, come mid March and into April the weather starts heating up big time for the hot season (28c and over 90% humidity... at 4 am, not much fun).

If you're spending more than a month there, you'll need to renew your visa. What ever you do, don't renew in Belmopan. It took me 2 days to get it renewed :o
My Second renewal I was in Orange Walk and it took me just under half an hour :)

Thanks man, that sounds amazing. Mentioning Krayt hunting brought back some good memories... Hanging around in some northern NPC city on Tatooine as a large hunting party slowly forms, everyone talking about how they're going to "take down the Krayt with ease" and saying stuff like "I normally solo Krayts but I just joined this group to hang out with so and so".
And then we head out looking for the pray, only to be taken by surprise and ambushed by two Krayts, and I end up crying with laughter as everyone scatters in panic and proceeds to be slaughtered with ease, me included... ah happy days ^-^

Welcome to Awakening! :) We have a great set of people on our server.. shout out if in General if you need any help!!! I have a number of items to hand out to newer players from the guild that used to be specifically for that purpose so please look Sionix up!

There are a number of good towns and guilds. Personally I would start with what planet you like best and go from there. If you plan on being a crafter you want a crafting Research town, preferably one that has ties to a town that has plenty of merchants to sell your wares. If mainly for adventuring go with a Entertainment district for 3 hour buffs.. just make sure there's a 24/7 entertainer and a doc set up there, or a Improved job market for more cash.

I hold Serenity Naboo (Scientific Society-ent and doc +'s)) and am a member of PHNIX. We also hold our sister crafting Industrial society (Research and Manufacturing bonuses) Canton.. 150m meters from the Serenity shuttle and Deadwood, our IJM (more credits per mission just to our north!. (Yep it's a theme.. shiny right?!!) We are the only guild on the server with a dedicated Scientific District, Research District literally next door for our crafters and our own IJM all within spitting distance of each other. While we aren't a huge guild we are active, on daily and someone is usually there to help out. I can tell you we always are open to new players and happy to help you along. No matter where you decide, if you need help feel free to reach out and ask!

Thanks for the warm welcome Sionix, it all sounds great. I'm on old school vet player, so I'll be happy just for the clothes on my back and a half decent blaster in my hand.
I hear new players on this server get a speeder bike (all be it a slow one) on creation... sounds like extreme luxury to me ;)
