Server Online - Current Status - Updated 26/1/23

The live server has failed to successfully restart after the scheduled 8am (EST) Friday 01/13/23. Incognito and Dirge have been advised of this occurrence. It will be looked into as they are available to do so. More updates will be issued as we gain more information.

Incognito has started looking into the issue. He is determining the best course of action to get us online, as time permits.

Incognito has spent his evening (01/14/23) digging further into the issue. It's been determined that the cause of this is an old problem resurfacing again. Back in roughly 2015-2016 the previous administration team mistreated the database. There were some extensive works undertaken at the time to repair it. They got almost everything back in tip top shape and we progressed forward without issue. Though, unknown at the time, some issues snuck through, and have caused the latest instability. Incognito is currently working his way through repairing the database extensively, whereas previously we have essentially just rebuilt it using the existing data without clearing up the problem areas. Incognito is hoping that by taking his time now, we will be able to ensure long-term stability going forward. We thank you for your understanding and patience. We will share more information as we have it.

The server is currently in a bootable state. At this current stage we are still not ready for it to have a player load on it again. When it is up, until we announce otherwise it will be in a locked state, to restrict access to it. Now that we have it bootable, but still essentially in a "sick" state. The next steps are to work on some code solutions to deal with the erroneous objects currently contained within our database, so we can repair it and get it in a stable state going forwards.

Hey all, just an update, Incognito did some work last night (Aussie morning) and left some code building overnight. Will have an update next time they look at it.
Progress is being made, but care is being taken to make sure all niggling issues are dealt with in regards to the database.

From Cyclone Via Discord General Chat: We are still working over things. Though progress is slow, she's such a massive beast, over 8 years old and thousands of players coming through our doors in that time. We're currently assessing what needs to be done going forward. Incognito has been working his arse off to try and make her whole again.

Hello all,

I am providing an update as to where we're currently at with our restoration efforts. At the moment we're facing a brick wall. We have the server bootable again using the current database. It isn't back to the stable, fixed state we would like it to be as yet, though.

We have reached out to the SWGEmu team for pointers and assistance going forward. At this stage they seem receptive to assisting us in our efforts. We will look into establishing a continued dialogue with them to work towards getting us back to normal.

In the meantime we have made the decision to reopen the server. We will trial increasing the frequency of the scheduled restarts in order to keep us going until a more concrete solution can be finalised. There may be changes to the scheduled restart time and frequency as we continue. We may experience some issues during this time, but please assured we are continuing to work in order to do our best by Awakening and you, the community.

We will provide an ETA to when we will be reopening the server once I (Cyclone) have had a chance to talk with Incognito today.

The live server is up. We will be running daily restarts going forward (until announced otherwise). The time of these restarts is subject to change but we will be using our usual 8:00am EST slot to begin with. The first of these restarts will occur in slightly over an hour.

Hi all, we have disabled the daily restarts until further notice. We are now following a code related trail to determine our restart related issues. At this point in time, we will be keeping the server up until we find a need to manually reboot it.
