Let's just say, Supreme Leader Snoke has to be the biggest disappointment to me in the movie. There are a number of other things, but this was #1 on my list of WTF? Really?

People complained when Ben Solo was a "whiney emo Darth Vader wannabe" and in the second chapter when he kills his Palpatione-level strength Master to become the Supreme Leader himself, something Vader never even did, people still complain.

I saw the potential in his character in Episode VII and feel confirmed that he has the best character ever written in Star Wars by the end of this trilogy.

Yes I get that you didn't like him being killed but it's more about Kylo setting up for the final film and his growing power than it was about snoke I believe.

Fundamentally the movie plot is ridiculous. A chase until they run out of fuel? Theyr's writers need 2 years to came up with that?

Kylo did what Sith do, He killed his Master when he saw the opportunity. Whether he wants to call himself Supreme Leader or Darth Crybaby, he's a dark-side force user. We'll see what happens in the next film. I thought it was cool to finally see one of these guys take our their Master. First time seeing it on film, see in it games and happens in the books.

I actually kinda liked that snoke bit it, but I'm not super thrilled in the way that died. It seemed a bit lazy and unrealistic that he'd be so easily tricked. I think it would have been better if he had fought back against Kylo and lost because Kylo was way stronger than he thought. Or maybe Rey and Kylo team up to take him out quickly. It accomplishes the same thing, but in a better way in my opinion. All-in-all, 9/10. I'll definitely go see it again.

I love how Luke punked him so the others could escape. Him killing Snoke was a moment of opportunity. He saw it and took it. Snoke was focused on Rey, and any other time Snoke smacks him down for it, THIS was not that time.

I think that Snoke is not dead, personally. Neither is Phasma. Very much the, "obsure death syndrome" for her.

All of the theories that she was Luke's, Obi Wan's, etc daughter got cleared up.

As far as the fleet fleeing until it ran out of fuel... meh. It is sound tactics if you are trying to save the majority

I didn't like the movie. Imho it is even worst than ep7.Pehaps bad translation took a place, but anyway when they track 3 ships half of the film that's...boring. Dead Snoke, Ray is using Force like she did it whole her life. The only good idea was with Luke's force spirit, but...you know the end. Well for me this Saga is dead. 7 episode wasn't that bad, but this one is really crap. Hate Disney.

I don't mind that they killed him. I hated the fact that we learned nothing about him. His character is so flat. Who is he? where did he come from? How did he build the First Order? Bad writing on his part.

I still liked the movie as a whole, just some things don't sit well for me.

Loved the complexity of Kylo, Rey, even Luke. Not what you expected from Luke a Jedi master.

Loved Yoda. Loved snoke being taken down. Again outside the box but not really. apprentice takes down the master, but not usually in the 2nd film.

I'm in love with Rey. Excellent job acting.

if Snoke's biggest role was to get killed, they should have done it in ep7. that would have made Kylo ren's character stronger.

From what I understand, it is actually Gen Hux that started the First Order.

You never know, they could flashback and tell the back story in the next movie. Then again they could move to 20 years later.

Loved:

Rey is a nobody. (Until we'll probably find out differently in the next episode, much to my disappointment no doubt.)
The stableboy force pulling the broom.
Yoda. The little green fella is a legend.
Luke making a chump out of Ren.
Leia "Take that look off your face 3P0"
Carrie Fisher didn't suck. She was brilliant.
DJ screwed over Finn & Rose.
Chewie getting the guilts for roasting a Porg.
Domhnall Gleeson - I'd force choke that simpering mother f**ker Hux in a heartbeat.
Luke's goodbye to Leia. Nicely done.

Indifferent:
Luke refusing to train Rey for too long. Would have given more credence to Rey's growing abilities, if only Yoda had got there a bit earlier.
Porgs - although they do look tasty spittooned over an open fire
Mrs Tiggywinkle and her friends cleaning up Ahch-to. Pointless waste of celluloid, should have been on the cutting room floor.
Leia zerging through space.
Lack of a Snoke back story (no doubt some hack will write one!)
Snoke died way too easily. Although it was a surprise it also left me a bit disappointed.
The chase lacked any tension.
Adam Driver... not his fault he's just badly cast, he's too old for the role and for the dialogue. Can't take a 34 year old bloke acting like a 13 year old seriously. All I can think of is Harry Enfield's character Kevin Patterson when I see him, just add a backwards baseball cap. "Join me and we'll rule the galaxy together." My reply would have been, "Not likely pal, you're a f**king bell end!" No hesitation whatsoever.

On the whole the good bits outweighed the bad. Yes a bit unnecessarily and annoyingly Disneyfied at times. A few nuggets for us old geezers and no doubt another generation who will love Star Wars, my 14 year old daughter loved it. Which is cool cos next year I look like cool dad taking his daughter to see Star Wars, rather than sad middle aged geezer sat watching Star Wars on his Doug.

They killed off my beloved Admiral Ackbar in the most un-noteworthy way. It should have been Ackbar, and not that ridiculous unnecessary character Vice Admiral Holdo that sacrificed to save the fleeing resistance escape ships. She brought nothing to the story. When Holdo died, at least I was spared having to endure anymore of that for the rest of the movie. I love Laura Dearn the actress, but it was a character they didn't need. I like strong female characters, i married one, but you got Rey and Leia to carry the girl torch.

It doesn't matter, the whole movie was one huge disaster to watch. Fan films are better than this garbage.

I never read the books for what happened after return of the jedi before Disney bought it. I think I am gonna try to find them used. I dont want to give disney anymore money for star wars content.

I didn't read any of the "new" books from post Return of the Jedi era. Disney went against pretty much everything that was already written.
