Please do away with bounty targets leaving the planet

There is really no point to this. It is merely a time sink and an aggravation. Already space slugs etc. make it bad enough. This is just a needless insult to injury.

I play my BH because it synergizes well with CH and finding pets. She's not built to hunt jedi.

Do you have BH droid tapes?
Iv never had 1 target make it off planet.

You are playing as what I would define as a complicated combat profession. You are also playing a unique mix with CH/BH. that combo worked really well pre-publish 5 or 6 I believe. It was before the first CH nerf and I am sorry I don't remember the specific publish anymore. That was 15 years ago and I also played/enjoyed that combo. I would also recommend the use of BH tapes as that would expedite the process. I am not sure how it would work with the AI, however you have to remember with player Jedi targets being tied in to that system it might make those code changes a tad more complex. I am not saying in anyway it can't be done, it's up to the dev that wants to look at tackling it.

I do have tapes. But this has never been an issue before. I cant remember which of the more recent publishes affected this but the AI has changed; I remember reading the note on it indicating bounties would try to leave the planet.

One of the reasons I have this particular toon is because hunting down bounties allows me to encounter rare tameables. So for instance yesterday I spotted a rare spawn of Frenzied Grauls and stopped to clear through them to see if I could get a baby (I didn't) and the bounty left the planet. The same thing happened on Endor. Both relatively quickly. I haven't played this toon as much the past year but there is definitely a discernible difference.

I'm not trying to make a huge deal about this, but its a noticeable change and not one that improves gameplay in any manner.

Iv got a belt with like +21 & +22 to both of the 2 Bh droid tapes. So I pretty much never lose droids, an they are usually really fast to track.
But with you saying you stop to tame babies I can see that taking a bit of time an the target could get away, like I said I personally have Never had a target make it off planet an I run a lot missions., but I don’t stop on my way to the Target.

Maybe you should kill your Bounty first an if you saw an animal spawn on the way there drop a waypoint on it an hit it on the way back.
Unless your Bounty target is a long way from the starport an you think you have time to kill the lair first then kill the lair first instead.

An also I think they said the Bounty Target will walk towards the closest Starport, so you might keep that in mind if you didn’t know that.

I personally dont have much problem with droids as I have several tapes, though i would argue that is something you shouldnt need tapes for. And Im familiar with the bounty mechanics, but you frequently cant leave a spawn as it will often not be there when you get back. Again the AI has changed; it was not like this prior to one of the more recent publishes; the bounties werent rushing to get off the planet.

This was something that came in with the last publish from the EMU team. It isn't something we just up and decided hey, how can we make BH harder.

Appreciate the response Static; I wasn't trying to put in on you guys and it's not the end of the world but the change is noticeable and limits your ability to do anything else along the way which was a nice feature of BH before that change. C'est la vie.

I know I am necro'ing a bit here, but for clarification, this has been in play since live. It was typically on Investigation 2 pve missions and above. The only fix is to make it to your target quicker. They do move toward starports in most cases, so the 37 times I have done the invest grind, I would try to start at the sp and move towards them, removing that ability but they would still poof off planet occasionally.

They may have fixed it on the emu side before and recently broke it again, which is why it seemed to be a recent addition, but this has been around forever.

It doesn't bother me that much, i just send out another droid and go to the other planet. If you encounter a rare baby, it's worth the extra time to tame, and hunt that target later on another planet. Who knows, maybe you encounter a second rare on that planet. Swg isn't an instant gratification styled game.
