Community Member of the Month Nominations Info - March 2019

The CMoM is back in action after a short intermission we will be taking submissions for the March 2019 CMoM

This competition is made to highlight our outstanding community members here at Awakening and as you can see it has been won by some very deserving people in the past. Will you be the next to be recognised for your positive involvement in the Awakening community?

Community Member of the Month Contest

Community is the main reason Awakening stands tall above the rest for most of us here! For that reason we love to recognise and acknowledge those amazing actions of individuals that make Awakening the place to be, in order to relive old memories and make new ones alike in Star Wars Galaxies. Each month, we will feature a member of the community who has stood out from the rest, either by their general demeanour, or by individual acts to better the experience of our players. The CMoM will be selected by staff based off of community nominations.

Once a CMoM is selected (nominations due by the 22nd of every month), staff will contact that member, with a questionnaire and ask for screenshots of the player. That player will receive a Prize Hall CMoM Token (valid for one decoration item to the price of one CSR Token, can be used in conjunction with other tokens for a more expensive piece), and a post on the existing CMoM recipients thread. Most importantly, they will join the ranks of the outstanding CMoMs that have come before them, and be recognised as true credits to the community!

Important Dates and Rules:
Submissions due: 22nd of every month, by forum PM or private message on discord to Cyclone.
CMoM Recipient Announcement Post: Around the 1st of every month, for the month prior’s winner

One nomination per person.
You can nominate someone for other months if they do not win the round you nominate them for.

Nomination Template:
Please use ther following template when sending in your nomination.

Subject: *Month* CMoM Nomination for *Player Name – Guild Name* (EX: April CMoM Nomination for Shepherd)
Body: A short paragraph about what the contribution is/was, and how it influenced your stay/the community here on Awakening. Include anything you want us to know when considering your nomination! Really, anything goes here - Was someone cool to you after a PVP battle? Did they buy you your first set of armor? Anything!

So here we go! The CMoM Contest is for the month of March. Submissions close on the 22nd, and the rounds winner will be announced on or around the 1st of April. We want to hear of everyone you think worthy no matter how little the deed.

Every person who nominates will be put into a prize draw at the end of the month and the winner will receive a small prize.

March 2019 CMoM: MikeAr, MikeDydy, MikeSm

Thoughts from Cyclone:
Mike is a long time veteran of Awakening, he has been around for as long, if not longer than I have. He mostly keeps to himself, however that doesn’t stop him from achieving greatness in the field of crafting. For many years, Mike has operated a high calibre shop, one of the few places that continuously stocks the rare R.I.S. armour. His shop also stocks a range of other high end BH equipment, fishing gear, droids and weapons. Him and his trading certainly are a credit to Awakening.

Who is Mike, the person and the character?
49 years old, suffering from an autoimmune chronic disease for almost 30 years. Continuous cortisone treatment got me 2/3 movement impaired and 3/4 blind, but that didn't stop me to teach in college the last 15 years (and be here for almost 4 years). My most known character is MikeSm - Ex Smuggler become BH and now FS AS/WS.

Why Awakening?
Searching around between servers I liked the promise of a NO WIPE server and also very well maintained by a group of very enthusiastic peoples.

What drives you to do what you do in game?
I like very much the crafting part of the game and try to come with new products (even the game was comprehensive studied and described so minutely). I like fountains, have one on all my big houses. Not much of the fighter( I fight PVE only if needed and almost NO PVP).

What are some of your in-game hobbies?
Hobby and job in the same time, I like to innovate new uses and types of RIS Armor.

Favourite moment on Awakening?
When, after almost a year of work, my mayor character become a full Politician.

What would you say is your best quality?
Given I can't walk almost at all, I became a very good organizer of things (combine that with a great rate patience).

What's a fun Mike fact?
When I saw Episode 4 for the 250th time, I stop counting.

Most embarrassing moment?
Every time I (and my teacher colleagues) lost a student.

Why do you think the community nominated you?
To be honest, I nominated myself. I managed in 4 years the most successful independent business on server (I like to think, at least) and I am here for the long run.
