Welcome back to Awakening! There are a few active guilds about, yes. You'd be best to ask in Discord or in-game, the forums don't see too much action since the addition of our Discord server. The invite link is in my signature. There are still quite a few active accounts even after 6 years of Awakening being live. We get roughly 70-110 connections at any one time, that's not a good estimate of active users though, there are many more. Though many prefer not to use general chat.
