Waypoints

I am just coming back to SWG after a LONG break....I just created a character and got to Mos Eisley and tried to do some artisan missions. They are not giving me waypoints. I have turned on the options to track and show waypoints. In the datapad I can see the missions and if I choose the "activate waypoint" option nothing displays onscreen and if I go out/into the datapad the option to "activate waypoint" is available again. Is there something I can do to fix this?
