I have not logged in yet to read descriptions, so I am running off 10 year old memories, but I recall wookies having a bonus pertinent to ch, but once one of the early ch nerfs came in dramatically limiting the total combined CL of your pets-I recall that "bonus" becoming useless for a mch.

My understanding is that this server plays with that reduced CL cap. With that said is there a benefit to being wookie as a mch? Especially considering if wookie armor is as useless on this server as it was on the original.

wookiee armor is pretty much always going to be worse than composite/ubese and harder to find since it requires a lot of wood and other BS that most armorsmiths don't typically grab.

as for the CH bonus, it's just a bonus to taming which is fairly irrelevant at master. you can buy BE clothes that give you a bonus to taming as well.

The only Wookiee advantage to CH I've read about lately(from archived material regarding pre-CU Creature Handler) is they start out with about +10 to the level of critters they can tame... so given two Novice Creature Handlers with no other skills, the Wookiee player will initially be able to tame slightly more difficult creatures, but once the two players start earning XP and locking in skill boxes the non-Wookiee may equal or surpass the Wookiee (depending on what skill trees they pursue, how fast they level up, etc.). By MCH I would think they would be equal again (aside from individual buffs, skill attachments, etc.)

They mention it in the following links from SWGEMU archives of pre-CU material...

Wookiee Bonuses:

Alot of people in the last few days have asked me, how big of a benefit is it to being a Wookiee Creature handler instead of another species, Well if you read the Wookiee starting stats you would know they get a +10 to taming. this does not mean they can tame before becoming a Creature Handler, this does not mean they can tame things that other species cannot, All it means is you can tame things sooner. Example: at Taming 4 a Creature Handler can tame a Rancor (well with some difficulty but its doable), However if your a Wookiee you can tame Rancors at Taming 3 instead.
