Many of us are searching for some place to simply unwind and be our characters for a bit. My wife (Xiann) and I (Vengeance) are proposing that all Role Players take advantage of Mos Entha as a role play hub. It is not player owned or controlled so anyone and everyone can go there. It has a beautiful level of character as a city which can easily foster depth for any character. It is out of the way of the general populace to allow full immersion and freedom.
Immersion, what does this mean? It means you become your character. Much like Dungeons and Dragons or other games of similar origin, you get the chance to truly play your character. Speak as them, act as them discuss the day that character has had and make plans with others that directly, (Or, indirectly) influence your character. No need for schedules, no need to join a guild. All guilds, All players All People come, Role Play, Live Star Wars all you want!
So, band together role players! It is time to live our characters stories in the GREATEST Massive Multiplayer Online -Role Playing- Game ever created!
Please keep feedback constructive and avoid inflammatory comments in this thread.

I support this.
We definitely need some hub which everyone can agree on.
Mos entha is awesome, and definitely an underrated city!

I'd like to add a non-RPer perspective...
I was traveling through Horizon recently and was approached by a few folks in RP/IC mode. It was very well handled; i.e. they were in character but not so far down the rabbit hole that it was very easy and fun to play along. If the RPers here can foster this kind of experience, interest to participate will likely grow effortlessly.

I think you will find, Jason that most RPers will approach OOC people with respect and courtesy. The only time I have seen that not be the case was when someone was griefing them or trying to be disruptive. Other than that, most RP communities are very welcoming, if not, excited to see others come their way.
Most anything can easily be role played in game and so it presents fun when someone who is not necessarily role playing comes up. For me, I'm always in character in spatial.
The purpose here is not, nor will it be to try and seclude Mos Entha to ONLY RPers. The effort is, instead to open up a static city for immersive and evolving role play. To provide a destination for those seeking role play to enjoy themselves without boundaries and to give their characters depth within a static and existing city in the Star Wars canon. By saying, "Let's role play in Mos Entha" I hope that players will be given an easy destination where they can possibly find a place to go in character and interact with others.
My sincere hope and desire is that this will not be limited to Mos Entha, but, instead that in the months to come we'll see an explosion of immersion RP all throughout the server. People finding time to kick back and relax as their characters wherever they find themselves. Where I am concerned, you're always welcome anywhere I'm roleplaying, in character or not. Though, I may ask you what "Loling" is or something just to tease you, it's all in good fun, ultimately I have no issue with non-rpers being around. I fully encourage it as they are just as important a part of the game as role players.

I think the idea is great! Having a static place, I think is great. To get things started, a place where people with common interest can come together. And having it in a public place i think is important as well. No player is the mayor no player will have "control" over events. People come and live in this city. What ever happens past that is what will have to see. Community is a huge part of SWG and i think rp is an amazing way to interact with that community! Cant wait to see where this leads!

Very excited about this, Entha is a great locale and has many little unique alcoves that are perfect for RP. Any merchants placing in the area I would like to discuss all putting tents at one end or the other so that it looks like a little bazaar sector, it'll be a while before I can place a tent though on my gal. Hopefully with enough of us stopping by and simply walking through RPing in Entha's streets we can make it an active city... this may take a while to really get going, so check back with it and make sure not to give up on the RP!

I stumbled into Mos Entha tonight to check it out - very cool town.
I think this could be a great location for a RP meet up. Maybe we can schedule something in advance and get the word out?

Great Idea! I will try to rally some of the ISB agents to RP an imperial Presence in that city along with the NPC's

If you build it, they will come. Having an Imp presence is great, it's the start of imp/rebel/outlaw back and forths. Feel free to stop, frisk, ask for ID, etc. Pick a place for a holding cell! Beat up the poor aliens, make them pay you (virtual) credits and then 'let them off with a warning'!
Yay!
Yay!

I like that idea with some Imperial / Planetary Police Force presence. As I'm trying to RP a smuggler, it makes things more interesting for me. I'll be sure to leave all my cargo at home. I'd also be willing to accept duels from anyone associated with the forces if probable cause is found to help add a little more to the whole thing (just no death blow please haha)
If we can get a date/time set in advance and advertise to get people there it would be awesome! Maybe we can even get a recap post of the night on here where people can give their first-hand accounts to document what happened.

I haven't seen a reply to this thread in a few weeks by the original proposer of the idea, Phenaren / Vengeance. Not that I'm holding him responsible or anything for the event
- but was curious if he was still interested in trying to get something off the ground for a first event. If any other <DREAD> members, since that was his guild, could possibly give us the low-down if they talk to him (or let him know we miss him on this thread haha) that would be great.
I'd also be willing to try and help in whatever I can, I'm old to SWG but new to Awakening so I'm not "established" but RP was one of my favorite aspects of the game originally so I'd love to try and do what I can to help get this off the ground.

I've been frequenting the area in search of life. But no dice. I will continue the hunt.

I too wander about Entha from time to time, but see few people. I have tried to chat with the few I meet, but they have always been afk. Seems the last few people who posted about being so excited about RP on the server vanished within a month, but don't get discouraged. I'm still puttering about and expect to stick around for a long time.
