It would be really nice to have a up-time counter in game. I understand that the 2.5/24 hour shutdown is a difficult thing to track down and eradicate, so it probably won't be going away in the near future. It just would be really nice to know how close we are to a server reset.

I have lost items during crafting do to the resets, as I would assume others have due to crafting close to the reset time. I don't always remember to come check the website for the Up-time counter. Just thought it would be very helpful to have an in-game reminder for server time up.

Well, I don't know what everyone else does, but I use the server status monitor on the main page of this site, combined with the in-game alarm. Just figure how long servers been up, subtract that time from the regular 2 hours an 25 minutes the server typically stays on for, subtract 10 minutes to give yourself a decent safety net and put that time into the in-game alarm so 10 minutes before the servers due to reboot, the alarm goes off and you know not to do anything that might be rolled back or interrupted during the reboot.

Yeah i spend a good amount of time on the forums, so its always easy to see the server uptime on the home page, but if it would be possible and easy thing to do then im all for having an ingame timer for it

This would take some coding and currently we are down to one dev at the moment. Something to take into consideration for possible future additions though.

What is the reason for the 2.5 reset? General question.

It's a development timer that swgemu put in. It's original intention was to keep people from running private servers. There will be a new public engine released sometime in the next few months with the timer removed.

With that said, it was a semi-short-minded approach and Awakening is ahead of it's time... players are able to play on a permanent play server that is very close to (and in many ways much better than) PreCU SWG! Until the Engine is updated it is a small inconvenience to have a permanent home now.

Note: Thus far, Awakening has honored the EMU's wishes, however, If they don't release the update soon, Awakening will look to unlock it to stop the resets. It's not our desire, but our players want it.

That we do and I think I speak for most everyone when I say you have our support if it ever comes to that.

Additionally, we are the largest server "to play by the rules"... ;)

Well I for one am very impressed with SWGA. I hope for the best in the 2.5 hour reset to be removed, but I don't want to step on any ones toes. I can adapt. I am just glad I can play.

Well, the reset is an inconvenience but it one I can live with. Id love to see it eradicated, but I can easily deal with it. The system notice is sufficient for me, and the xp loss is minor. I find the access we are afforded here is unprecedented. We never found Virago or Smedley nearly as approachable as the powers that be here.

Oh, and it doesnt hurt this is a somewhat pro-Bh server. But I am a bit biased:)

Keep it up guys. I love it.
