Pvp, trash talk, and trying to get staff involved.

Hey folks,

I feel I need to address this because it's starting to become a pattern where two or more parties get intertwined in pvp. One side wins, one side loses and trash talks begins. Staff doesn't like to get involved in pvp unless it's an event we are hosting or supplying npc's for. I understand pvp can become heated, i mean who really likes to lose right?

I have asked people to submit tickets when they are being harassed, gen chat becomes insane and other real issues etc. What I did not intend was for people to become sore about losing in pvp and then being taunted, especially when you are going back and forth tit for tat with said party(s). You can't complain about pvp banter especially if you are engaging in it.

Don't use staff because someone has gotten under you skin, gotten the best of you, or just because you are looking for revenge. If it's not a real issue please don't engage staff over it. You can add/ignore other players and I insist you do. If it persists after you have withdrawn from the conversation and have them on add ignore, then yes it's a issue.

I enjoy losing in pvp, its a learning an experience that i can come back and destroy people

Yes, that's extreme trash talk. Childish or poor taste in wording doesn't make that harassment. After seeing something like that I would add/ignore and never give the chode of a human being one more thought in life.

Be the grown-up and add/ignore. I'm saying it was very poor taste, but last time I checked wishing cancer on someone was just plain stupid and being a super fucking douchebag. I've had cancer twice now. It made me a stronger man and more sympathetic to those with severe illness. What I would do is make sure through legal game mechanics would be to make sure players like this had no entertainment, was ignored globally by the community, and maybe show this to his/her guild leadership and hope that they had some fraction of humanity to not let this individual stay in their guild.

It's not a game violation to talk to people like this. I tell you what I am about to do is pull all the guild leaders into Teamspeak and nip this shit in the bud. There is way to much whining on this server now. You have the means as players to negate this sort of behavior and this exists in every mmo. We are not the morality police folks. Ok I get it, this persons has no moral fiber and is and asshole. Just because you don't want to ban him from cities and hit add ignore you want me to punish him for not being a nice guy. How is that fair to us?

Wishing cancer in someone is not a threat. It's the most stupid thing one human could say to another human for sure, but that's not a threat at all. I understand that it disturbs you, quite frankly I find that to be a dick thing to say to anyone. But just because he said something you don't like doesn't mean it violates the rules, nor does it mean someone should be lynched for it. I am on your side, don't like it, he/she is a scumbag. That doesn't mean i can punish him just for being a scumbag.

If you couldn't avoid it, i'd be more inclined to agree but really /addignore works and I don't think dev/csr time should be spent on this garbage.

Granted I may be biased from years of competitive fps/mmo play but I really don't think it's all that bad. He didn't say "I hope ello dies from cancer" what he said was pretty tame and yes I have experienced plenty of shitty cancer related issues in my life.

As I have said and every single person in my guild and every single person that knows me understands exactly what I meant by that regardless of how I worded it. How I have explained again and again since last night was that it only meant that I couldn't care less about Ello in a very bad choice of words as I was extremely upset due to kortney starting stuff with me when I had simply ported into the city and not said anything to anyone.

I have close family members and people that have been very dear to me lost due to cancer so in no way was I wishing "death" upon anyone or for Ello to get cancer. I truly apologize for the cancer comment and how it came off to you I should have used different wording.

As such, in regards to Ello, for a very long time that originated on his side attacking me out of no one repeatedly in general chat and when he started borritos locos this had resulted in the banning of my guild for his hatred of me, so doing something I am completely against and hate doing I sucked up my pride and apologized to him and even had a rather decent conversation or so I thought we had been unbanned and then out of no where not far after this the attacking me in general happened again and things went right back to normal. With me doing something i'm extremely against and apologizing and trying to be the bigger person and to have him spit in my face I was very upset last night and thus resulted in this conversation.

Regardless, I had already sent the screenshot of what I said with an explanation to the staff far before any of this happened explaining and letting things fall where they may. Taking screenshots like that and posting them on the forum is an extreme and utter disrespect to myself and should have been something kept private between you your guild and staff, not announcing it so you can get attention in general chat like you did last night and then coming here with it as well.

Its the simple fact that you dont know where the line is, you dont know when to be adult about it and walk away. No you gotta open your mouth and when you do STUPID flows out. Your actions reflect solely on the company you keep, you got banned your guild got banned and you couldnt handle it. Man up and admit you fucked up and then be adult about the situation and leave BDSM the hell alone! We want nothing to do with COA any of its members as long as you wear the tag and roam the server. Grow up and act your age!

We will continue to term your leveling jedi and slaughtering them inside and out of your cities as well as every single member we find. COA will continue to dominate the server and that's something you'll just have to live with. Go bully someone else lyllith i'm done with you.

And this is why we don't get involved. This is a disagreement between two guilds. You have tried and tried to use us as the punishment stick. I don't side with anyone when it comes to gameplay. You have the ability to add/ignore. I suggest you use it. If you truly threaten another player or misuse a game mechanics to continue to harass another player you are so fucking gone. I don't care who you are or who shit in your Cheerios that day.

Play the game, be smart, and if you don't have to be a dick don't. Have fun out there kids, I have said all I am going to say on the subject. Submit tickets if there is a real issue please. Believe me, I will serve out justice when it is justified. I don't take sides or play favorites. What this has most certainly done is it has doomed General Chat. I warned people to behave, but you just can't control yourselves. Was nice while it lasted.

I said that was coming months ago. A server of any size will have guild and individual conflicts. It will happen. Choose your friends, kill your enemies. Rebel vs Imperial. Guild vs Guild. I have asked the staff to tread lightly in these areas simply because we don't want to squash any spark of PvP. With that said, I do want folks to consider there is a person behind each character, do NOT attack them personally.

P.S. Saying "you suck at Jedi" really isn't a personal attack... for those who are a little slow to understand what we mean.
