Location: Lok, approx 7000 klicks south/southeast of Nym’s
Shuttleport: Not yet, we need YOU to help us get it.
Faction: Neutral, all factions welcomed, well, except for Pirate Hunters, those we direct to the volcano.
Specialization: None Yet, we need YOU to help us get Improved Job Market.
Focus: Roleplay!
Contact: Ralk (mayor) or shout in General for Kos and someone will get back to you.
Daggers Down is a small group of battered houses where a merc or a hunter can get a drink, chat to a cantina worker, and maybe make some contacts with a ‘supplier’ or even a ‘customer’ for whatever is needed.
Started by an old Bothan woman to whom Nym owed a favor, Daggers Down is a neutral place to hole up and count your loot. It adheres to all laws of Lok (IE, don’t piss off Nym, everything else is legal if you have the firepower to back it up.) A welcoming haven to all races and professions as long as you abide by the laws of Lok (see Nym, above).
The term ‘Daggers Down’ comes from an old pirate custom. When two or more groups of ‘aggressive salvagers’ came together to negotiate, each one brought one dagger to the bargaining table and no other weapons. Each one would put the dagger down on the table, with the hilt facing their opponent. Ralk chose the name to signify that this town is a neutral place, where quarrels can be mediated and ‘patrol areas’ can be fairly apportioned.
Any duels, shady deals, or trysts are expected to take place outside of the city limits. In fact, ‘The Pointy Thing’ just to the north of town is a favorite landmark for such things.
OOC: We all know that JTL is coming eventually, Daggers Down is in it for the long haul to become a place for Rpers to settle and build stories and be firmly established to welcome all the pilots and pirates, and to supply them with what they need to keep flying.
RULES:
#1 You don’t have to be an Rper to be welcomed to the city. Be courteous to the RP going on around you and contribute to the city in whatever ways you want to, that’s good enough for us all. BUT! RP griefers will be city banned, structure banned, vendor banned, and put on a KOS private bounty list posted in the city hall.
#2 All damage to structures associated with Daggers Down must be approved in advance. This means you don’t get to bring your thermal detonators to the cantina, then declare it’s destroyed just because you can. We need time to get our decorators notified to re-arrange the damaged buildings, and we’re not going to be doing that three times a week. (anyone who remembers Red Sands on Starsider knows what I’m talking about)
What you CAN do in Daggers Down
Bounty Hunting…go for it! If anyone’s on the boards they got there for a reason and we know that Red is Dead. (which is why we encourage neutral doctors and cantina workers)
Jedi… go for it! If you make yourself useful to the city, we’ll probably point the bounty hunters towards the Kimogilas instead of towards you.
Crafters…Honestly, crafters are the backbone of the game, without them we’d be running around in desert crawler pants with survival knives, trying to take on rancors. We’ll have publicly accessed crafting stations, and some factories that you can use (by arrangement with Ralk) as well as grinding resources (for cheap) and access to some pretty cool Rangers for those critter resources.
Roleplayers…That’s why we’re here. We know it will start small, but we plan to be running RP events and parties as soon as we are decorated and have a shuttle. Meet and greets, bachelor(ette) parties, date auctions, fight clubs, you name it!

Hi Trixie,
You may also want to post something on the RP forum on here - there is a small group that got together the other weekend through there. Since the RP community is attempting to grow / come together, it would probably be good to post on that forum as well to make sure other RPers see it who might not be frequenting the player cities area.

Daggers Down sounds like in interesting place to visit for the roleplayers of Awakening.
The next time my Rodian has business with Nym I'll definately drop by. You never know, I might even make a credit or two while I'm there

Thermal detonators in cantinas you say? This Rhodian likes the idea of this. Can we bring our own or are they provided by the management =)
In all seriousness that sounds really cool and I might wander by every so often.

Coolness, we are still decorating and only at outpost level (we need people to live here to make it a lively place) but soon we'll be stocked and decorated and even have terminals. If we build it, they will come....date auctions are my favorite.

Still not decorated yet, I've been slower to do it than I expected, but it will get there. We are rank 2 with a bank and a garage (thank goodness) and need 4 more people to hit rank 3 and a cloning facility. We will have a cantina soon, and a hospital at rank 3.
After that, 15 more residents to hit level 4 and a shuttle! Then the trip will be merely annoying, not boring and deadly like it is now. Then the town will really start rocking. I'm looking at the end of april to get RP events going, but if you want to have a venue (bar, restaurant, 2nd hand shop, *cough* pawn shop *cough*, or anything else (or want to run the hospital) just get in touch with me. I'm usually found on Kos or Yssti, or email my mayor Ralk and I'll get back to you.
Remember, you don't have to be an RPer to live here, you just have to not be a griefer. You don't have to be imp, rebel, or neutral to live here, you just have to not be a pirate hunter. Or at least be a crooked pirate hunter.....and grease Ralk's palms.....*wink* you know what I mean.

Of course we'll supply a house, that's why I made an architect...well, really I made her to decorate with, but still! Also, if you give the Mayor admin rights, we'll pay maintenance for you too, I go in about the first week of the month and pay it until the end of the following month (ie I'll go in when you are not around in april and pay up to the end of may)
We're so nice that way....
PS, I have small and medium houses, if you want a large then we'll work something out.

We have restored power to the cloner and the med center now. Those, along with the garage and bank make us nearly self sufficient. Nym says that we need to have more people to justify a shuttle port, so if we get a dozen or so more residents, we'll be in a stronger position to petition him.
We're currently negotiating with a couple of people to open bars, and one resident expressed an interest in leading small parties of people to explore various places around the galaxy.
We're growing, slowly, but we're growing!

I remember a place called this on the SOE live servers. It and Red Sands and a few others were some of Tali's main haunts. I will definately swing by for sure!

Wait...I remember interacting with a 'stitches' before in Red Sands. A Bothan who...I forget brought me there for something, he always wore a suit and gave out black "business cards". I just thought of it today lol Anyhow I'm back in town now so I will be in daggers soon! Definately want to put Taliara thereTrixie wrote:Yep, Eeuuko and Elijas, I was Stitches (aka Qaaria) we have a few old timers helping me get things started.

Nope, different stitches. Qaaria was a zabrak with 15 older brothers, and the healer for Elijas' crew. But that's alright. I'll be ingame ATK a little later tonight and watch for you in general chat, we'll get you set up!

Sounds like a perfect place for a safehouse. Once I can safely navigate the terrain, I'll explore out that way.

We expect to be able to drop a shuttle sometime this weekend, if all goes well. As for terrain, just keep your scanners online and dodge the red dots.
