components and serial numbers.

For some of the components that do not require stats would it be too difficult to remove serial numbers? I know there are bigger fish to fry I just wanted to throw it out there. I know for tailor and chef there are tons of components that do not have stats didnt' know if this had ever been looked at or suggested.
