Armor Overhaul

I know this would be a colossal project but, have the developers considered at any point that armor could potentially be much more interesting? Maybe an armor overhaul would help role players and even the economy. Thoughts?

I was so happy when they introduced schematics for Imp and Reb armor. There have been a few threads on this in the past, but I don't recall any staff commenting one way or the other.
Suggested options have included normalizing all armor to be similar and/or making an appearance tab.
I'd be happy with anything other than Composite Wars Galaxies.
