Anyone know of any, or have any clue how to decide what CPU to ask?

This is a rather late response, but the truth is that pricing resources is one of the most difficult things to price in the game and it's different server to server. You need a LOT of experience to be half decent at it.

Generally speaking, there are 4 factors in my mind to the price of the resource:

1. Quality in comparison to what has spawned.
Is it a server best resource? 90th percentile (use galaxyharvester for this info)? Grind Quality? Generally speaking, established crafters will be using above 90% percentile if not SB/near SB so the vast majority of resources are not especially valuable.

2. Resource Type
Different resources will be more or less common and that influences the price dramatically. For example, Crism Siliclastic Ore and Vertex Crystalline Gemstone are rare resource types - you can go months without one spawning and they aren't guaranteed to be good. Other resources will almost be guaranteed to spawn every week so there are a lot more chances for that resource to be good. This factor also can be seen as the ease of harvesting said resource for creature spawns. As an example for that, insect resources are often a pain in the ass to get so their prices are much higher than you might expect if you only looked at the stats.

3. Age
Straightforward enough - the older a resource is the less supply will still be around so the price will go up if there's still demand for the resource.

4. Functional Use
Badly titled, but essentially is the resource actually used for something important? Using my previous examples of Crism Siliclastic Ore and Vertex Crystalline Gemstone are used for stun armor, which is vital for PvP. That combined with the relative rarity of the resource types make them pricy resources to obtain.

As a general scale of CPUs:
<5: Doesn't meet any of the above factors or meets one
5-10: 1 or 2 factors
10-20: 2 or 3 factors
20+: 3+ factors

Past 20 CPU is way too hard to generalize and is entirely dependent upon special situations. I've bought resources at 100 CPU - it happens and sucks for your wallet. The end cap for resources realistically is the going rate for veteran resource crates divided by 30,000 (typically coming out at around 133 CPU but it varies)
