It's becoming a bit of a joke now, people choose to play jedi and know what they are taking on when they pick up the sabers. If you don't want to be hunted or pvp, don't play jedi.

Thanks for those 2000 points ta very much.
However those jedi i used to solo before fb and traps don't play anymore, must have been my 15% success rate,we never met because i couldn't get into the geocave on my own
However this is a different game,Its a new week and round 2 is commencing,DO YOU have what it takes to knock off the top ranking athletes?

Not many tend to hunt solo because Jedi seem to either run or log anyways so with more firepower there is a higher success rate due to obvious reasons. I am quite happy hunting solo I still do it now, just tend not to against the deadwood that seem to fulfill the above as it makes zero sense to waste my time.

Bounty Hunters who were Jedi first (Scabby as an example) usually turn out to be wicked deadly hunters. Just thought I would mention that. We are pretty proud of our mate there, he is quickly becoming a pillar of <BH> Keep it up! New guys can learn alot from him.

That being said, his above comment is dead on. Solo hunters come in two varieties (in most cases). The first type are like Boba. They hunt because of their own personal standards and their distaste for group hunting. This is extremely understandable. I was the same way on live. I only hunted solo and was damn good at it, as Boba was. Unfortunately here, solo hunters have horrible success rates. The best are not typically successful more than 15% of the time, give or take.

The second kind of solo hunter is the boutique hunter. He hunts those who are soloable until they grow up and cannot be killed alone. This is not always the case, if you have a Top 5 server weapon (Narrk, Tsavo etc.) you can do it. If not, don't waste your time. It can still be done, but the planets have to align. You gotta catch a guy unbuffed and unawares and not prepared to defend himself. As you can imagine that doesnt happen very often. Most of us don't care to waste 2 or 3 consecutive buff sessions chasing a guy who may never actually engage you. Contrary to popular belief, the missions do not payout well enough to justify the time investment required to do that.

Personally, I shoot for efficiency. This doesnt mean I look for easy kills. I look for Jedi who I can kill with the manpower I have online. I would prefer to hunt knights with a partner, thats best case scenario. If not, Ill go to three or four. If none of those targets are available, or I dont have the manpower online, I look for low hanging fruit.

All that being said, what it comes down to is the fact this is a business for most of us. We are not gladiators, trophy hunters or daredevils. We are mercenaries. We stack the odds in our favor and attempt to maximize reward and minimize risk. Currently, I only fail about 18% of the time (it is alot less if you take the 7 losses I had when I first came back and was dialing my template in). It's not because I am awesome, it's because I am calculated, and I make sure I have stacked every possible odd in my favor.

This includes mitigating water loggers. I do that by picking targets, and only chasing trackstars when I think I have the firepower to drop them before they can log out or run home.

So, if you think the fact that no one hunts your Jedi solo, or the only time you see BHs is when we come 5 deep, you may want to look at what you have done before and how we have simply adjusted our tactics to counter yours.

Running doesnt make you chickenshit. Of course, not being hunted solo doesnt make you a badass either.

I got tired of winning and watching the number of red dots on my map growing each hunt, so I changed my template to a support one for real PVP because it is more fun than BH "pvp" these days. Thanks to LORE for bringing some GCW back. Some of you "PVP'ers" in this thread should join up with the Rebels and bring some more real PVP to the server. It'd be good for the server, and the Rebels need more people to go with the really freaking good players they have right now so we can balance the sides some more.

No bitterness--I enjoyed it more than anyone. Now I'm bored of it. You want the BH/Jedi dynamic here to get a much needed revival? We need FRS, or TEF. Until then zzzzz. If you don't think TEF would be fun then I question why you "pvp" at all ;D

Good for you. but until you rid yourself of the "josef" mindset of who has teh most jedaii wins,you can fucking forget it.
Ive said many a time how to PVP (2 bases and combat toons) but some muppet always brings a jedi or 5.
When you and everyone else learns "how to pvp" you will actually get "real pvp" until then dont waste my fucking time.
People bring jedi to the party and BH show up its thats simple.
I will happily join a faction and repeatedly die over and over again and it will be fun,but i will not have it done to me by a bunch of saber wielding pricks,no one likes that hence no "real pvp" bring a rifleman!
Jedi should be heard about but never seen,no place for them in the GCW!

It doesnt need a revival,its not true pvp as you see it,its pest control,your not going to get TEF it will be a fucking slaughterhouse and not the way you think it will go either.
There will never be a problem for BH to have there PVPish type thing as it is "pest control" and someone somewhere will always pick up the saber.So i fucking laugh at your much needed revival comment,just proves your not qualified to comment on BH interactions.
I cant speak for all BH on this server as we all have different opinions as to why we do it,but one of my prevalent reasons is to stop in some small way "jedi power battles" because in my opinion it ruins the game for everyone even the short sighted saber wielders.

Thats why ive got annoyed and swore today because if anything irks me in this game its jedi who whine about PVP.

I gotta agree with Terrance on the real PvP side of things, I have never enjoyed Jedi pvp as much as normal toon pvp. I have 3 PvP geared normal toons ready to go but it's almost pointless due to them getting sliced by army of sabers.

I still think the toughness should be completely removed from the robes, that way a normal toon would stand a chance because the Jedi would have to really fear something other than just a pack of BH'rs. And I know I would be one of the jedi temps that loses most if the toughness is taken out becouse I have practically no defense part from saber block and toughness.

Allow me to jump into that thread,

Regarding the GCW, I agree with Keylorn about relaunching it, no matter what is in each side. We don't pretend to impose our own rules to other players because there is only "One Way" to PvP. Indeed if you are more comfortable to play with your jedi toon, then you will have to accept to see other players doing the same with their BH toon. In my opinion, Pvp is not just about ganking people with 4/5/6 or 7 full templated jedis, as I used to see it in the past, and be sure of the victory at the end, but facing an interesting challenge that can be overcome in group. I learnt that a well organized group of "non jedi" players could be successful very often, depending the means used during the battle. I remember a nice fight in Nar Kanji where I counted 7/8 imp jedis, with their acolythes, facing a bunch of crazy Rebels, supported by only one jedi (Sevyy). The imps finally got back to their home defeated but we had a lot of fun together despite the fight was clearly unbalanced.

Although I agree with you Keylorn, I did not see many imps coming to Avalon Prime to fight LORE. Everytime we wanted to have a good fight, we had to head to Ravenloft (where we are all banned hihi) to bring some entertainment. It may be worthy to come to visit us on Naboo (that's a charming place to live in...ugh to fight)
It may be consistent to stop banning automatically people who tend to bring fun to your city. That's just a though but as we say "Your place, Your rules".

I tend to agree with had been said about the jedi toughness, this would clearly bring interest to other combat professions.

A suggestion for the future, will we see a kind of BH ranking system? (I am sure the community could clearly help with this. In addition, it could bring some balance to the pvp when the full templated jedis will use their own MBH toons to grind the FRS ranks)

This. I never understood people who scream from the rooftops that pvp is non-existent etc. and then cityban anyone from the opposing faction on site. I would think you would want to make it easy to pvp in your city, instead of making it a hassle. Especially if your town isnt close to a starport.

Terrance, you are awesome but your ranting is more zzzzz to me. A team stacked full of Jedi does not = auto win. Skill does. I remember a fight in Naboo last month that the Rebels (Mostly LORE but not all, and some BH interference for good measure) beat us with their 2 Jedi, some stackers and CMs vs 4-5 of our Jedi because their composition was waaaaay stronger. Jedi are not OP inherently OP lol. I don't think you understand what I am getting at. Your gank squads could declare and join the GCW battles, or is that too hard? Or make some PVP toons and come play on them. You think I'm whining but despite this being a smack talk forum, I'm really just trying to encourage ways for more fun for more people. I think you could use a chill pill because you seem insecure about your bounty hunting. Even fishface understood exactly where I was coming from when we talked about the state of PVP in-game and shared the same opinions. Some of us just want more varieties of competition, more varieties of fun, and what's best for the pvp community on the server. When players who are looking for GCW action hear that there is some on Awakening, they will come play here The bigger picture too, my man.

Our official stance is to NOT ban from our city for PVP. Being a douche will get someone banned (for future reference). Forgive the mistake. You and anyone you know who wants to PVP against us is more than welcome to bring it to our city, and if you and your people need to be unbanned then get in touch with Stormee in game and hit up Ravenloft.
