If Awakening had to wipe.....

I would like to know what direction you might take with a fresh start. As always keep it friendly, don't argue, don't fight, and please stay on topic.

I'd become an ambassador for the server, I've pretty much done everything I can or want to do on the sever and still love what I do here. I've made so many great friends and people i classify as family. Even with a wipe I wouldn't dream of quiting or playing elsewhere I'd want to help rebuild the server and help others

Im surprised the server hasn't wiped to be honest (whose laughing @Ed now eh? ha ha ha) it is one of the very few that has not,people may not have believed it at the time but Awakening kept its word unlike many other places.

1 choice is obvious,its why i came here in the first place.
At the time Awakening to my knowledge was the only place that was stable that had jedi and bountyhunting! very rare! and to be able to BH again was divine!
I was 6 months behind the vets which is a lot of time to make up for especially when COA and BDSM had ingrained themselves in the server.
I dont think people took me seriously when i got here,I had the feeling i was viewed as a joke,fortunately Japerse put me in touch with Celt.
I would do it all again in a heartbeat despite telling myself to go easy this time.

2nd choice would be crafting and maybe politician.
EMU has allowed me the time and the ability to give crafting a serious go and i discovered i liked it.
Mayve i would actually sell something next time around.
Politician because i had a city in live but again given a second go i would focus it more on a star wars underworld theme,i actually would have factories in the town giving it a more industrial feel.

I would like to think that people wouldn't poison themselves and others in the mad rush to be Jedi and take their time,but alas that is the nature of the beast.

I won't get back on the EMU carousel. I have played on enough of them to know, that this the one to be on. It isn't perfect, but I know the devs are not going to cheat, and are not going to play favorites. As long as I have a fair playing field, I am good. Besides, Bedrock has to remain the foundation!

Fresh server pvp is great fun. Don't have all the min max stuff set up yet so the brawls are great. I'd love to see that again (tweak pvp death so it doesnt strip buffs). Going for jedi again would be the end goal. If FRS and pre pub 9 trees are in, Id be super inspired. Otherwise, I'd just grind it causally. I liked making armor but I wouldn't do it again, for a new server I'd either do food or medical crafting. Oh and always, always loot whoring.

We appreciate the kind words of support guys. Ed & especially Incognito have worked their behinds off to prevent wipes. Even SOE had more downtime than us and the occasional rollback to boot. I was really concerned for Publish 9 when I saw swgemu was having database issues. Basilisk has been up for what, 5 years without a wipe?

I figured if those guys had bad database issues i could only imagine how bad of shaped our is in. Berkley may be fast and easy, any dev on any server will tell you when it doesn't like something it's a bitch to fix. We'll continue on keeping this sucker running as long as we can!

I'd go straight to pvp & hunting Jedi with the occasional Jedi grind to unlock on the back burner.

However, I do agree that tons of folks have invested time & some even donated $ to this server because it's been a great server to play on, therefore I'd seriously think about even doing this EMU dance again...

Just curious as to why 'not coming back' isn't an option? A lot of people have invested time and, in some cases, money to this server to keep it as fantastic as it has been. I imagine there would be a percentage of the player base that would not return to the server which would surely need to be factored in to the discussion?

Because this is a discussion about which direction dedicated Awakening players would go if we wiped. Leaving isn't a discussion, it's giving up regardless the reason good or bad. I made the rules for this topic of discussion, it's not for quitters, and there is your answer. I'm handing out time off to the next players that find it funny to challenge this. Now, back on topic.

I voted get straight to hunting jedi. I never did it on Live. I love it here. I'm already an ambassador for the server. I have a crafter, but it's not something huge. I realized I loved crafting when I got here, but my little niche, I'm happy with that. I don't want to start over again. I like my baubles and collectibles.

Would rebuild my chars like i have atm : some crafting (want to be able to craft my own weapons as i always have done) , a stacker and a mando and will try get unlock again. But same way i did it now, nice and relax. Enjoy the game and the people around as i do now.

I voted to hunt Jedi. No matter where I've played (i.e. LIVE, EMU, here), the BH profession has been the most fun. PVP but when I choose it and on my terms. What's not to like? I also enjoy NPC killing and the occasional nice loot that comes from it. Also the varied weapons you can wield fairly proficiently as a BH prevents burnout and keeps it fresh.

2nd option would be to be an ambassador for the server. What drew me to this server was the emphasis on hard mode, the Jedi/BH setup, and the strong sense of community. Having been here 9+months, that's still my impression and I'd be happy to be a representative for that cause. Great stuff.

I would ramp up the professions I currently have. I enjoy this server and playing SWG in or as close to its original form. The only option to vote for me was to become a server ambassador.

End game for me is always hunting jedi. So I focus my efforts on bounty hunter skills, gear, necesary looted items, and support characters. Bounty hunter is a lot like Jedi in many respects. Jedi train for power, bounty hunters focus on obtaining loot/gear to match that power, which depending on the luck off the rolls can take much longer than getting a full temp jedi.

I have to abstain from the vote as I'm doing it right now.

Have not play SWG since a week or 2 past CU on live. Joined the server less then 2 weeks ago. My first time on any emu and hopefully the last. Have yet to get full temp. set on any character yet.

With that being said. About the only thing I would change is the race on my first character. Did not remember a lot of things on character setup and may still end up deleting and remaking just for that reason. How long till name is available again???
