Question about Caves that are off limits

Are all the caves on dantooine off limits to jedi to to fight for loot? As long as you don't log out when a bh comes.

As I understand it, unlss the cave ejects you such as the NS cave and the geo caves, it's forbidden to GRIND for jedi.

Initially it seems some were exploiting this...way back when jedi xp had a bug where it was the same as normal xp. A lot of jedi were levelling up fast in caves, somehow getting buffs inside the caves stopping BHs getting to them easily. Remember there was a 30 second logout there too.

Some BHs (I don't like using the term BH as it could confuse folks with the guild of the same name, but it is what it is) even complained about jedi using fynock and torton caves as I recall. NPCs were added to these places.

I suppose that even though a BH should be able to kill fyncoks there in seconds, the 30 second log off was the issue stopping BHs reaching their marks.

Personally as the logout is 3 mins now, NPCs are there (maybe overkill?) and xp is what it should be, I find it hard to justify the ban.

So the way to check if a cave is safe is to see if you are ejected from it using /softlog. You may have to wait a min before relogging back in. If you ARE ejected (based on what the devs have said) it is OK.

Fair point Mad! So wait the 3 mins and if you log back in at the cave entrance it's safe. Ish. ;)

I don't think these caves a bh would have to fight to get to jedi unless their faction was bad with them. It's to farm for lower to medium level tapes and other items, not to grind. Selling skill attachments is my main business. I currently use a non-jedi but BHs would be a welcome interruption to farming.

Oh non jedi are fine to farm and grind in caves all they like mate! Go for it!

The last of the reasons for the ban being implemented to begin with was eliminated when pub 8 went live here. The xp rate has been adjusted, the NPCs placed in all of the caves ensure (maybe not with the current vis issues) that jedi end up on the terms for fighting there, and the log out timer is long enough to prevent escaping when a bounty hunter shows up. Still, I wouldn't assume it is safe to do it unless we get official word. The last person I gave that advise to got a slap on the wrists for going to the squill cave anyway.

I have always had a very tough stance on caves due to it affecting me the most,in the end in some cases i had to set up a forward base and penalise the jedi so bad that he could not continue to grind there.
So here are my guidelines not necessarily the view of the devs but pretty close as a guess;

Squill cave is an absolute no, along with the voritor cave.
Weigh up in your own mind what you personally think is right without "bending the rules by being clever".
With log out rules changed to 3mins you have a bit more scope then previous and by that i will explain.

If the cave gives a HUGE amount of jedi xp with no great risk to the jedi and the ability to log out from BH encounter then its safe to say its a no go.

If you have a cave that ejects you to the front of the cave ex,geo and Dwb then thats all fine and dandy.

If you log out at the bottom of a faction depot knowing that the BH cant get to you in 3mins well thats kinda also ok,BUT what it will do is make you a priority target.
Which roughly translates to,I will wait there all day for you and so will my guild and any other BH that cares to do so (word gets around quick in that small community).

Its not to difficult to grasp,if the risk is zero and the rewards are far to great then its a no,players should roughly know in there own minds whether they are pushing the envelope or not.
