I Have To Move My City?!

Yesterday I purchased a City Hall Deed from a (Helper), shared the location of where I would place it, and went on to do exactly that. But, this morning.. The same person whom i purchased from and told where it would go, began to make me feel sort of uncomfortable sighing at me for the placement of the city, and kept repeating that I didn't understand how buildings worked here. It's pretty akward considering I had asked very very very specific questions, asking if devs or anyone needed to know and other new-starter questions. I don't even understand it, and kind of alarmed and discouraged out of it with it all after that- Especially considering the city i purchased the deed in was dry-humping a P.O.I. and there was a one-man town not too far away from my location. I was told something such as "The flat sand is reserved for harvesters during war-time?"..

I thought it was a joke at first when they started saying "You must have noticed these harvestors here, and how all our cities are off the plain.
After i finally stopped laughing for ten minutes, i logged off really aggravated. They were atleast kind enough to volunteer to give me another deed once i burned my progress down. I may or may not take them up on that , but for now im pretty aggravated.
So i dont know who im supposed to ask, and i dont want to start off on the wrong foot in a new world with new faces. Especially being so new.. But I was told "THEY" got CSR permission for dry humping a POI so i suppose i have to ask or figure out what to do or where to go?
It was a remote, beautifully flat area 1.5k West of Anchorhead. Still there now. Named 'Marvel'.
I almost cant ask with a straight face but, where am i allowed to create a Rebel Player City without accidently tredding on reserved sand for pet turtles to nap in.

It's counter-productive to walk out of a conversation before understanding what is being communicated. I can tell, based on what you've said in your post that mis-understanding is the basis of your aggravation. That's fine. I'm happy to try to more clearly express what I was saying. I must have failed to properly communicate.

No one told you that you had to move your city. However, I did try to share some advice, particularly in volunteering the information about another city that may benefit from new mayorship. This is much easier than trying to scrounge up citizens for a new city.

It's all good. I wish you well in your endeavor. I'm happy to replace the deed you destroyed, if you did.

Thanks DarkSpecialist! Definitley makes me feel better. In all the years I've EVER played I never felt so akwardly attacked about anything lol. I difnt want any issues but i thought it was done really arrogantly and disrespectful. Even after i apologized i was dug into with "you MUST have known!". Thought it was a joke.
Great fitting story for the birth of a Rebel Outpost. All the sand is reserved sand unless its an Imperial base =)

one of a few things is happening for the flat piece of land.

people want to put harvesters down..the more flat an area the better chance to get materials for them to use towards items you will buy or they will sell to whomever.

or perhaps he was rping you..suggesting in a time of war it would be best to not put your city hall there on that flat piece of land so anyone could put harvesters down.

or from absinthe reply, they are suggesting that since this server does not have 20000 people to just put up yet another town and spread the community and their alts even thinner than what it is that perhaps you should take ownership of another town that is failing or hasnt had activity in a while.

or you are looking to grind politician with your own 10 person alt city..did the math once.. was like 43 weeks to grind it on your own.

as for the csr permission, i havent been on this server long enough to have those types of conversations to write about them.

in the end its your deed and you put it where you see fit, if it fails then so be it. if you dont then great for you. if the csr or dev or anyone with the power wants you to move your city then they will let you know.

Dark, and Marky, This was exactly what was occurring. We have been here going on two years, and have seen lots of cities rise and fall. The only thing that was being suggested was that you consider taking over a failing city, or putting it somewhere else in the interests of the community.
To be honest, Tat is full of cities that are successful, and some that are fading as their mayors and residents are afk. However, Corellia has some prime real estate. ND, Mon Cala, and Bellicose Isle are long term on Cor, but there are LOTS of good spots. Not to mention Dant.

As far as Bedrock is concerned: we did ask permission and we did get instructions as to what we could and could not do with the location.

Anyway, it was merely constructive feedback. Good luck, and this will be the last thing I say about it.

k so thats settled. people here and those near the city you would like to build next to arent jerks. I am sure there are some, there will always be some on every server. The person or people you spoke to that day was just giving a suggestion is all and it just got off the wrong foot.

when i went to college my father and I argued something bad about it because he feared me being in debt my entire life..it was expensive and i chose a college education that didnt pay alot in the end but I paid every nickle of the loans back by myself..12 years later. He was just going off of my other siblings who dont handle money well and just assumed. The same thing is happening here..there are people who are way more plugged in here and are just giving a suggestion.

like I said if a dev or csr wants your city moved, they will let you know.

Let me open by saying, I was very honest the first time, and continued to be told by others (who weren't present) that I was wrong, mistaken, miscommunication. Etc. I tried to politely correct, and to verbalize the truth but-
it was.. a misunderstanding- right?
Okay - Is this a misunderstanding as well? I had entertainers barking at a Starport for New Players, and a barker from <TJM> stood over mine, barking louder, faster, with things such as 'don't settle' or 'sell yourself sort'.
When someone approached their representative, they replied with "That is the spot we always are in though".
So you attempted to reserve the opposite side of the planet and got upset I placed there..
Now we are attempting to reserve Starport locations, and intentionally again going way out of your way to make a new player feel comfortable.
I even sent the starter pack you guys were kind enough to give me BACK to you guys, with a thank u , paid in full.

So here it is boys and girls.. This is a warning shot.

Marky, seriously, I skimmed that rant and it's out there. Making little threats is really not called for. It's not appropriate, imo.

We've spammed in that location, using a variety of macros, for years.

You do you. I know you came to me and said "I'm new. I want to know how things are done here so I fit in." and now all this? But, hey, no one, at least I didn't tell you to move your city. And, now, I did not "put my barker in front of yours." I logged her into the spot she's always in.

I don't have time, or inclination, to have to come over here to the forums to answer some beef you have that you've taken public rather than talking to me. When I logged my barker in, and saw some other toons there, did I come on the forums, or in gen chat, and complain? No. Why? Because it's not an issue. I didn't even know who the toons were, nor see them bark.

The reason I stand there in Eisley is to make sure that people who spawn in there know to look for player cities, and not think the server is dead because it's not like live, bustling with tons of ents and docs. I'm going to keep on doing it. If you want to put toons there too, knock yourself out. As you may have noticed, I'm not the one on the forums and in gen chat complaining.

I urge you to speak to me and refrain from sniping at me here. It's not my style to be compelled to bicker in public. Thanks!

Player city forum smack talk has got to be a first. The only rule we enforce is to not build on top of a POI. If a structure falls within the 300m range you will receive a couple of warnings. If you don’t move it in a suitable amount of time you risk us giving a non-refundable structure delete. Just be aware that Static loves making buildings go boom that violate this rule. Generally if you are 300+ out you are fine.

As far a there being too many vacant cities we are going to turn structure cleanup back on with the next Publish. We have too many vacant tenants and we won’t hold space indefinatly.
