Hello all, I have spent some time doing system updates to our web server and updating our website's phpBB version to the latest release. This ensures we have the latest security patches to keep your data safe and secure on Awakening's servers. Following the update I have given the website a once over and checked the critical functions are working, but if you happen to notice anything isn't functioning correctly, please open a ticket and let us know about it so we can fix it.

We are running a survey to gain insight into what operating system our players are using on the computers they use to play SWG Awakening with. This survey is a short 1-2 minute survey that will greatly benefit us in understanding our players. We appreciate everyone taking the time to complete it.

As we work to update the packages our launcher runs on, we will be losing support for Windows 7/8/8.1 with the mainstream launcher release. This will bring us in line with Microsoft's end of support for legacy operating systems. As a result of this, we may need to provide an alternative option for users with legacy Windows operating systems to connect to Awakening's servers. We will develop our plan based on user responses to this survey, though work has already commenced to provide avenues to enable this. Note: Users with non-Windows operating systems, this does not change anything for you, we still will not be providing support for users on non-Windows operating systems. Though the launcher code is publicly available at the link below, if you would like to try edit and compile a version of the launcher for your OS (macOS/Linux distros).

The Server is Back up!!! Thanks to Incognito & Cyclone for going the extra mile to get things working again.

Woohoo May 4^th is here!

We will be conducting a server restart to enable the Awakening event system from a server restart on Friday the 5^th of May through until the following Friday (restart times TBA, a minimum of 30 minute warning will be provided prior to bringing the server down). We will be giving players a chance to get two random event paintings from the May 4^th 2017 through to the May 4th 2022 collection. These will be able to be redeemed once per account (put in the inventory of the first character to login after restart). The commemorative badge for May 4^th 2023 will be awarded to each character that is logged in during the event. Like usual there will also be boosted XP during the event, this will be equal to three (3) times the base server XP rate, keeping in mind we are currently in two (2) times boosted XP mode at the moment.

There may be additional spontaneous/semi-spontaneous events being held throughout the week. The occurence of these is solely based on the availability of our volunteer Event Coordination team members.



To summarise everything that’s guaranteed to be happening during the week:

• Two random May 4th event paintings from 2017-2022 per account (put in the inventory of the first character to login)

• A May 4^th 2023 event badge per character logged in

• Increased XP rate (3x the base rate)

All of these will be available from Friday the 5^th of May’s ad hoc reset, to the following Friday's ad hoc reset.
